SOME QUALITY ISSUES FOR MAYTAG
We chose Maytag because of the brand reputation. We also chose Maytag because the product is Made In America. The price seemed like a value when compared to brands that made waffle makers, irons, toasters, TV's and the like of everything (Samsung, LG) as well as appliances. Maytag makes appliances only. Good mid-range dryer

It does a good job of drying on the timed drying, but the more dry/less dry tends to lean on the less dry side. I don’t really use it. The wrinkle control stage is too long, in my opinion. Poorly designed door latch
The dryer itself does it job: it dries clothes well. But the door, to close it, takes tremendous effort. You literally have to hold the back of the dryer with one hand, and slam the door closed with the other. And sometimes it takes two or three tries to get the door to latch. I’m astounded that the New York Times’ “Wirecutter” lists this as its Top Dryer. I would not recommend it to anyone.

minor dryer issue

Tin piece of junk
I bought this with the washer to replace an old 10-year-old Maytag washer and dryer . It is extremely lightweight and I’ve never had a dryer moved before but this one does. The top is kind of curved so when it does move my empty laundry basket on the top goes flying right off. Instead of the back of the tub being finished like behind where the controls are like my other one was it just cut off and has a very odd feeling and it’s very cheaply made. DO NOT BUY
We have owned this dryer since April 25th 2017 and within a mere 65 days the dryer unit stopped heating. The drum would still rotate without any heat, so clothes would not dry. Lowes would not take back the unit as it was outside their 30 day warranty for appliances. Since the unit is on a manufacturer's warranty, Lowes arranged a repairman to come and fix the heating issue. He replaced the timer controller behind the control panel at the top.
