We bought a whole suite of new LG kitchen appliances a couple of months ago largely due to a buy more save more promotion. This refrigerator replaced a very similar 8 year old LG model. The old one had the in the door ice maker but it was often freezing up. The seals had become moldy and damaged due to the prior owners negligence. Otherwise, it was still working reasonably well. Bad water, Horrific Freezer

The first thing I noticed is that the water doesn't taste good. Still tastes like hard water with a metalic quality. The biggest reason I would tell you to run is: 1) The freezer, I've had it stop running 3 times. But when service came out they said that they couldn't find the reason, and left. 2) The pull out drawers, 2 of them, the top one with the ice bin and the 1" pull out below it broke apart!! they would also skip off the rails all the time. when I called Lowes for replacement part...

They are always trying to make things better, and some things are, but others are not! 1) The old fridge had two dispensing paddles, 1 for ice, 1 for water. Faulty compressor and LG takes weeks to repair.

Nice fridge until one day it stopped cooling. Broken compressor. It didn't make any alerts so we didn't notice until it was too late and we lost all the food. Ok, fine, things happen -- but the customer service since has been some of the worst of my life. We're still waiting after nearly 3 weeks, with no end in sight. We did a complete renovation to an old farm house, which was finally complete about 6 months ago.
