Works with Dewalt DW1803

I needed just the bit to use with a 4 1/8" diamond hole saw to cut about 2" into red brick. Since this mandrel does not have the posts like the Dewalt DW1803, the mandrel wouldn't work, but the bit fit my Dewalt mandrel. So I swapped out the pilot bit. It was also helpful to drill a small centering hole with a 1/8" bit to keep it from wandering. Can not stand up to numerous holes.

Have no idea why this is even offered for a hole saw arbor, it has no pins to engage the hole saw so after several holes the threads stripped and the saw and this arbor are useless. Thankfully Lowe's has a good return policy. The point is spring loaded so it doesn't even bore into the material, makes a small divet. If you need to cut a lot of holes in hard material, you need to get one of the other arbors with pins and remove or change the pilot bit.

NOT a pilot bit

This works more like an arbor or a guide rather than a pilot bit. It does not drill in tile I had to purchase a 1/8 inch tile bit to create a hole for this arbor to follow. It does keep the holesaw centered and helps with creating a nice hole, but it does not drill into tile.

Works well with a diamond hole saw

Used on conjunction with a diamond hole saw. This centering pin worked great as advertised, but the spring center only retracts so far requiring it to be removed about halfway through cutting a hole in a tile - this is why I removed one star.

Required for drilling masonry

I used this in conjunction with a diamond hole saw for drilling countertop. I really liked how the tip was spring loaded and it prevented the hole saw from jumping around.

Pilot Bit

Forgot my pilot bit in Virginia when I was doing some work on our vacation home. Bought the same one I had at home and am still exceptionally please with its quality and price.

won’t fit extensions

It only fits 1/4 “ extensions, store does not sell those. Liked the part, but couldn’t use it for a 6” concrete slab depth.

Does what it says it will

This bit is required in order to use the larger circle bits. It helps stop the circle bit from moving off center. It worked great.

I was a little hesitant at first but worked better than a mason bit & held the hole saw perfect to start the hole

Pilot Bit

Bought to use with a Lenox Diamond hole bit. Hole bit failed after 2 holes in a 5/16" porcelain tile. Bit works as intended..
