Cobalt trimmer

Enjoyed it out of the box... then I had to replace the line. Went online for instructions. Instructions were easy, replacing didn't work the way the video said. Went back to Lowes with it for help. Staff member couldn't figure it out either. Even with online instructions. Will not buy this product again.

Frustrating

This trimmer worked great ..and I liked it....until it needed new string. It was the most frustrating task and if knew....I would have never purchased it! I do not recommend.

First use impression

So, I bought this at the end of the year last year and didn't use it until last week. The Battery was still charged. I was amazed at how light it was, how quiet it was and how well it worked to trim my weeds - compared to my old gas one that died. I have two Kobalt battery chain saws that I love so I expect this to be a good purchase, as well.

Tool went bad. Trigger switch. Totally dead.

Had it about 3 plus years never had any issue till today. Triggered switch I’m thinking made an odd noise odd feel when I pulled trigger. Anyways it’s dead. Went to Lowe’s service counter she said had to call Kobalt warranty service. Called them he could not find my purchase date on the my Lowe’s account which I know I always used. Battery Powered String Trimmer

I have used a gas powered string trimmer for decades. It is both heavy and loud. I decided to try this string trimmer because it is light-weight and operates on a lithium-ion battery. I am surprised at how powerful and long lasting an electric trimmer can be, and quiet! I have a corner property with a lot of curbing to trim. no replacement spools available

I purchased this trimmer last March with 2 extra spools that were supposed to fit my model. I just used up the line that was on the pre-installed spool. I opened one replacement spool and then took of the cover to replace it. To my surprise the replacement did not fit and did not look anything like the one that came with the machine. The weed wacker is great HOWEVER service at lowes was a joke. I ordered and paid for the item the day before pickup online. When I picked it up, i was given a “returned “ product. The box was torn, banged up, and taped shut. I told the customer service person I wanted to look at the item before I took it . Poor Battery life is the MAIN ISSUE

When this Kobalt 24 vdc string trimmer is fully charged, it works pretty darn well, BUT for only about 10 to 15 minutes of use. Then it takes over 2 hours to fully charge the battery again. Sure, I can purchase a few more batteries but at $70 each, two would cost me more than the trimmer package which came with one battery. 2 hour charge time for 15 minutes of use is not a good ROI. Will be returning for an electric trimmer with a cord.

Needs a bigger/more battery

Got about 10 mins of run time before it drained the battery on the low setting. I wasn't even hogging though anything difficult either. Just typically trimming around trees and my house. That's just way to short of a run time. I would need 2 batteries minimum in order to do 85% of my yard. I even tried to charge it for an hour while I mowed and then run the trimmer again and it only ran for about 3-4 mins before being out of juice again. I got this Kobalt trimmer as a replacement for the Ryobi that I had had for 10 years. Kobalt is a name brand that holds a prestige so my husband really thought that we were trading up.
