I have a Lodge Cast Iron Hibachi that I set in my old gad grill as a stand for it. It's big enough to put The Hibachi in and close the top. I use an electric starter to ignite the coal. The electric starter allows the Wood infused coals to smoke like the daylights. I take what I am going to put on the grill and a put it on a rack, put it off to the side of the Hibachi and close the cover down on it. I've just created a quick infusion smoke that will give my proteins the flavor of the wood infuse...

SmoKINGsford works
Hard to go wrong with mesquite. You can sell it in work and it doesn’t overpower the food. This is great for the quick burger or 2 when the smoker is too much trouble to bother. Great for the small picnic outing too.
If you bought it, return it!
Maybe good for a smoker, but useless to try and cook with. I have a chimney starter and have been using charcoal most my adult life and have never had such trouble with charcoal as I did this product. The charcoal lights and begins to burn just like regular kingsford, but oddly enough, produces very little heat. (Plenty of smoke though) Even with the drafts on my Weber grill wide open, I have trouble keeping the coals producing heat as they burn. I purchased my charcoal at Target and kept insi...

Flavor and logevity, a great twin set!
I use a charcoal chimney, lighter cubes, and a blow torch to light up my charcoal. This stuff burns a hot bright orange for a good long time. I can sear steaks with it to seal in the juices, then give them a good hickory smoking with the lid on, but not for too long, since I like them a good shade of medium rare. Sometimes I add a few more hickory chips to really get it to permeate the meat, but the hickory charcoal is usually enough to stand alone. I also have used it to cook chicken, which tak...

Nothing Better!!!
My dad was a Kingsford man, now I am a Kingsford man. Last year I tried both the Mesquite and the Hickory. I liked the Mesquite for chicken… But the Hickory is the very best flavor I have ever had from a charcoal grill! I will use nothing but Kingsford Hickory from now on. Now for those who put up poor reviews… Kingsford Hickory is not "light it and forget it". You have to tend to it like a guy at a grill cooking up some prime rib-eyes! If you are looking to "light it and forget it" to heat some...

thanksgiving turkey disappointment
I bought a bag of this because I like the taste of hickory smoked meats. I lit the charcoal and waited until they got white then added my turkey. I after 30 min to 1 hour I noticed the temp wouldn't get over 175 deg. I kept adding and adding charcoal until I had used the entire 14.6 pound the I had just bought the day before. so I added some wood that I had around and the temp started going up within 15 min. so im guessing that this charcoal got moisture in it somewhere along the line before I b...

Not impressed - wouldn't recommend
Not impressed with the charcoal. If we hadn't got it so cheap, we'd be returning it. Can't tell a difference between these specialty charcoals and the original. Also, I've had a difficult time getting the grill up to temperature with these briquettes. I'm gonna have to buy some regular charcoal and try a 50/50 mixture.

This does not disappoint!
I love using wood chips when I am grilling, to add some extra yummy flavor. But when I saw this product, I was intrigued enough to give it a try. This charcoal did not disappoint! I didn't worry about having to soak wood chips at all. The charcoal kept it's heat way longer than other brands that I've tried. We've had ribs one week, and burgers the next week, using this charcoal. Deeeeelicious results!

This Good thing came in a small package
I have not seen Kingsford Cherrywood Briquettes since the COVID-19 pandemic hit. These are smaller packages than what I'm used to, but 8 lbs of something beats 100 lbs of nothing.

Hi AJ! We’re sorry to hear that our charcoal was not an ideal temperature for your grill and was producing too much smoke. We wouldn’t expect that to ...
