The screws holding the toilet seat to the hinge fell out and all this sawdust fell out where the screw holes were. I bought three of these seats to replace old ones. I hope the others hold up but I’m doubtful. I’m trying wood glue to fix it, but I’m not hopeful.
Poor Quality
I thought being a KOHLER, it would be of good quality. However, along more than half of the edges on the paint and sealant is either very thin or missing. A proper sealant is important on wood seats to keep bacteria and moisture from collecting and being absorbed. This toilet seat will quickly become unsanitary and deteriorate. I would not recommend this product.
Easily stained and scuffed when trying to clean
Very nice Love the soft close However these toilet seats are not easily cleaned. When dirty it is impossible to get completely white again. Used magic eraser, bleach, cleaning solution. There is some type of protectant that makes it difficult to clean. Very unfortunate.

I replaced 3 flimsy plastic seat that would slam down if you so much as looked at them with the Ridgeway Wood White Elongated Soft Close Toilet seats. Hinge broke after 19 months
Here's the flaw with this lid. The slow close mechanism is only on one side. So all the force from opening and closing the lid is on that one side. The other hinge is just freely floating. The hinges are plastic. So every time you open or close the lid the plastic wears down a bit. It took mine 19 months to break. How long will yours last?

Old style is way better than new
Hoping this lasts longer than 2 kohler seats that cracked. One was in a rarely used guest room bath. Split in half. I replaced the all plastic a the “wood” version that I recall from childhood. Heavy solid durable material.
