Our Jorgensen 3736 36 In. medium duty steel bar clamp is our most popular medium duty steel bar clamp. They are used by do it your sellers, hobbyist, carpenters, cabinet makers, woodworkers, metalworkers and professional trades people of all types. It is a sliding head design: the sliding head is threaded to accommodate the screw with large easy grip handle and swivel pad. All adjustments are made in the movable sliding head, making this style fast acting, easy to open and close and suitable for close quarters clamping. You can easily move the sliding head up and down the bar. The 3/8 In. steel screw with easy grip handle and 3/4 In. diameter plated steel swivel can be tightened or loosened to meet your exact pressure needs. Our 3736 has a 36 In. opening capacity, a 2-1/2 In. reach and a 600 Lb. load limit. The strong, light weight 1/4 In. x 3/4 In. steel bars are plated to be rust resistant. The multiple-disc-clutch design consist of two hardened plated steel clutch disc and one spring which allows the sliding head to hold securely at any point along the bar. The iron castings have an orange baked enamel finish.

The right length to get the job done

I bought this 24 in clamp to finish a writing desk that I was building. Needed to get the right side leg and frame together, but I needed at least 16 inches, and I only had a 12 inch bar clamp. The 24 in bar clamp did the job very easily as it was able to reach past the 16 inches, and be adjusted,after doing a test fit without it, I set the clamp adjusted the length- which was very easy to do, and the strength and stability that the clamp allows you to use to bring the pieces closer together. Just needed a couple clamps and Lowe’s was closer than going home and getting some from my shop. At first I thought I would get a couple cheap ones that would get me by but I saw these and decided they would make a great addition to my collection. I’m glad I bought them as they are high quality. Steel bar clamp slips

I have four steel bar clamps. Two work fine and two won’t tighten due to slippage down the bar. I tossed one and was ready to toss the second when I heard about the warranty so I put in a claim. I have a LOT of Pony and Jorgensen clamps in my wood shop and have only had issues with these two. I’ve had great success with the others but these two don’t work very well.

Seems built tough. Love that there is a fine adjustment knob too. Makes it easy to set appropriate force on more delicate materials like thin plywood.
