Jorgensen 12-in 1000-lb Bar Clamp

Our Jorgensen style 3700-HD heavy duty steel bar clamps are ideal for all types of heavy duty clamping and is a workhorse for its size and design. They are used by do it your sellers, hobbyist, carpenters, cabinet makers, woodworkers, metalworkers and professional trades people of all types. Protective pads made of thick, durable plastic protect your work. Clamps rest parallel on work surface for ease of work placement and adjustment. It is a sliding head design: the sliding head is threaded to accommodate the screw with wood handle and swivel pad. All adjustments are made in the movable sliding head, making this style fast acting, easy to open and close and suitable for close quarters clamping. You can easily move the sliding head up and down the bar. The 1/2 In. steel screw with a easy grip handle and 1-3/16 In. diameter plated steel swivel can be tightened or loosened to meet your exact pressure needs. It has a 3 In. reach and a 1,000 Lb. load limit. The strong, light weight 1 In. x 5/16 In. steel bars are plated to be rust resistant. The multiple-disc-clutch design consist of three hardened plated steel clutch disc and one spring which allows the sliding head to hold securely at any point along the bar.

I bought this 24 in clamp to finish a writing desk that I was building. Needed to get the right side leg and frame together, but I needed at least 16 inches, and I only had a 12 inch bar clamp. The 24 in bar clamp did the job very easily as it was able to reach past the 16 inches, and be adjusted,after doing a test fit without it, I set the clamp adjusted the length- which was very easy to do, and the strength and stability that the clamp allows you to use to bring the pieces closer together. Just needed a couple clamps and Lowe’s was closer than going home and getting some from my shop.
