Let me be clear. I was extremely excited about this purchase. I ignored all the other reviews discussing their issues and understood not every item is perfect. I bought on July 18th, delivered to me on July 24, broke down on July 30 mowing my front yard. Thats the beginning. You go to Lowes Claim Site, I tried through phone number, email, and reference number of the extended warranty I purchased, and somewhere along the way no matter the route you take it says error so you can't proceed. ...

Had to spend more than I wanted, but works great

I originally bought an S140. Unfortunately it wouldn't start at all and the warehouse did not have another to replace it with.

Great mower

The power and smooth operation of this mower is unmatched. I mow around 2 acres over hilly terrain. This John Deere doesn’t flinch. My neighbors Husqvarna struggles with a very similar yard, the Deere cuts much better and smoother. Must buy!

This tractor was purchased May 15th 2026 with zero hours on the engine. After it was delivered I used it twice to mow the yard. This accrued 0.6 hours on the engine. Lowes Delivered a Damaged Product

Ordered a multi-thousand dollar John Deere mower from Lowes in Pineville, La. They use a third party to deliver. Mower was delivered damaged, steering wheel cut in half, scratches everywhere and spat out sunflower seeds on it. Called the store, first person says "all we can do is a refund". Asked to speak to someone else in management, a second person comes on the phone and literally goes "ma'am, what's your problem". Bad experience

After 2 hours of use engine began to sound rough and tractor started vibrating. Bubbles in engine oil. Called John Deere and was told they would fix it but transportation on me. They wanted 200.00 to pick up and return. Its brand new. Not happy

Save your hard earned money

At 225.2 hours as of today it can barely move and I noticed when we first bought it that it was sluggish so I did some research and found that the k46 is a widely used trans but not all that great. First it is not easily serviceable and if you do want to change the fluid in the trans you have to take the trans off the mower and flip it upside down as there is no drain plug but there is a fill plug. Comfortable tractor-style mower

Just took delivery. I have only used it for one mowing session. My old mower had been broken for a while, so this mower had to take on six inches of growth which it did with ease. The tall grass was pretty wet and my lawn is hilly, but I had good traction except when trying to mow while turning sharply uphill. But the tires never ripped up my turf like the old mower's tires did. The mower did a B-plus job of a level mow even on such tall grass. I will give it a more fair test on my next mow. I'...

Fine if you mow dry grass everyday

This is NOT a mower for country grass. By that I mean if you're cutting more than 1 1/2" you will be wearing out belts like crazy. Don't even think about wet grass. I've had this mower for 4 years now. Engine and transmission run great. Hard to steer. Buy extra belts and Oil Filter swap.
