New John Deere Riding Mower

My faithful John Deere 245 failed to run and since it is 33 years old I went looking for a new mower. At Lowes I found what I wanted was an S 130 42 inch deck. I also purchased mulching attachment. Very pleased with both, new mower is comfortable easy to operate ,plenty of power ,runs great , starts easy ,has numerous safety features ,mulching attachment was easy to attach and does a great job. very pleased with both.

Purchase, delivery, and mowing on hilly terrain.

Purchase, check out, and delivery scheduling went smoothly and as planned. Would recommend Madison Indiana Lowes as a purchasing locale. The only critique is the mower has a safety switch under the seat which will cut off the engine if you get off or slide towards either side of seat. This feature is inconvenient if you have uneven terrain .

Product good - Lowes local store delivery BAD

For days prior to delivery I got updates of on time delivery. Even the morning of. Then shortly after the update I got an email that said it was delayed and a Lowes rep would call. No call. I happened to be at Lowes later that day and asked and was told that the person in charge of deliveries was off that day. I waited 2 more days and still no call or email. Silence. I went to the local Lowe’s in Salisbury Md. with the intention of purchasing the S130. I had no problem in finding a store attendant to help me. I showed him the mower I wanted. He quickly handled the details of the sale giving me payment option. It took no time at all and I was on my way home. I was a bit anxious over what I would find out once home. Good Mower. I would buy again.

I bought this mower about a month ago. It mows my acre quickly with ease. I have some short but steep inclines it pulls them easily. The deck cuts evenly. It is pretty fuel efficient. I can almost mow my yard twice on one tank of gas. The hydrostatic transmission works flawlessly. Time will tell about the durability of this machine.

First JD and loving it so far.

Bought on Aug 16th and sales lady was wonderful “Hellen”. She was very knowledgeable and had a sweet personality. S130 is great so far tho I had to read the manual to understand how everything worked (delivery guys did not show me anything and were late). I was thinking about purchasing the canopy for this unit but the reviews are not so good. Waiting to see if John Deere improves on its design before I purchase.

My new and first JD

After I went through the manual and tweaked the recommended adjustments, mostly the deck leveling, lube will come later, then it was off to the races. It mows a cleaner swath than I am use to. Is much faster as well. Getting use to the reverse controls but gets easier the more I use it. The dual run time and gas gauge is a plus. Inspect your Deliveries

I ordered the John Deere S130 and paid $39 to have it delivered. The hood was cracked so I had to refuse delivery. Very disappointed in the quality and care of the delivery. I paid with my Lowes credit card. It has been a complete hassle to get this order cancelled and get my account refunded. I've had to call 3 times now to get this situation cleared up. The last call was to complain that Lowes didn't automatically want to refund the delivery fee. Common sense would say refund it, since...

Faulty equipment/Terrible customer service

I purchased the tractor on 31 Mar 26. It was selling for $2899 with 48 months financing the same as cash and I found this a pretty attractive offer. It was delivered 4 Apr 26. The tractor is hard to start and stalls out. Total run time on the engine as of this writing is 0.08 hours. It's been in the shed pretty much since delivery on 4 Apr 26.
