A thermostat I can actually rave about.

I think this thermostat has the best written directions I've ever seen. I'm fairly critical of such thing, like "do this do that" and saving "But if you have x model" at the end of a long paragraph. Or inaccurate pictures of the t-stat screens, in this case. but it was a perfect set of instrucitons for installation of single stat and in several variatons. Nice Thermostat, but check it before installation

I ordered three Honeywell T9 Thermostat and Room Sensor bundles for my church. The installation and setup process was fairly easy. I used the Resideo app to set them up and create schedules. Great thermostat

Way better than the Nest. The app is better. Buyers should note this came with a c-wire adapter. You don’t need to buy one separately. I didn’t know that and bought one because it didn’t say it came with one so I ended up returning the extra one I bought. So as a heads up you can save the $30.

Temperature Overshoot When Heating

I have used T9 thermostats on my two Carrier HVAC units since 2020. Two issues: 1) On HVAC unit #1 there is a large temperature overshoot when heating. For example, assume the set point is 73 F. The temperature shows 73 F when I hear the furnace stop firing. But by the time the fan stops the temperature reaches 77- 78 F. I wish that there was a tuning parameter that I could adjust to make the furnace kick off a bit sooner so as to reduce the overshoot. The performance when cooling is reasonably...

Thermostat is fine, Selecting sensors is confusing

This is a generation 1 thermostat, additional sensors must be ordered directly from Honeywell. As far as I could determine there is no way to tell the generation from the packaging.

Good Thermostat, poor documentation

I like the T9 thermostat. Had lots of trouble loading the correct phone app. Is no longer Honeywell but 1 of 5 different Resideo apps. Finally found correct one only to find out that my thermostat had already been registered which prevented me from doing it. The online service (India) was helpful, de-registered thermostat and I got it working. I almost returned it to Lowes as I thought it was brand new.

Worst decision

App doesn't register the thermostat as advertised. trying to figure out if I'm more angry with Lowe's for selling it or Honeywell (don't they develop weapon systems for the US government?). Either way I have to return it tomorrow and do another evening install of a different thermostat.

Dropped connection to my system - and always on!

Out of the blue, four years after purchasing, the main unit stopped being connected the same way to our system and to the app. We used to have a "dual" option (for both heat and a/c) on the master unit.
