Rusted & snapped in half
After a lot of issues actually receiving the item and hours on the phone, I was shipped this item. It was completely black and had a gritty texture. The first screw snapped in half in my wall, and I don't have the tools/knowledge how to remove it, so I have a half rusty screw poking out. The second hanger actually crumbled in my hand, a few pieces of the hanger actually disintegrated as I was holding it. I'm actually shocked by the horrible quality. Poor Quality & Design
Attempted to run the supplied screw into standard pine 2x4 and the screw head broke right off. As others noted, the center mount screw head does not allow the pipe to seat fully into the lower saddle.
Worked with modification
I was going to mount these in the mortar of a cinder block wall. Based on another review, I determined I needed to replace the mounting screw. I used a 3/16in x 1 3/4in flat head Titen Turbo screw for the mount and 5/32in masonry bit for the hole. These screws fit perfectly into the center mounting hole of the base. They mounted great after the screw swap.
