After just under 2 years, the remote quit working. Guess I'm stuck replacing the whole thing since the warranty is only 1 year. Shame too, since I now have to junk an otherwise perfectly fine fan over an irreplacible remote receiver.
My need a longer extension rod
Fan was easy to assemble and hang / we did need a longer extension rod thasn what was provided. It looks great in our screened in porch and fan is very quiet

REMOTE DOESN'T WORK
Fan installed on vaulted ceiling which required two levels of scaffolding. Remote was erratic, it didn't work consistently. You could turn fan/light on after a few clicks. You could turn fan/light off after a few clicks or come back later to turn fan/light off. I called and they sent new receiver and remote. Remote Control Module not Replaceable
I did a little better than Melissa - mine lasted 3 years. The receiver for the remote control is integrated, so when it developed a problem, it couldn’t be replaced and I’m *having to buy a whole new fan*. Wasted time and money trying to use the “Universal” Harbor Breeze remote/receiver. Stay away from this one.

I purchased three Seaholme 52-in fans for indoor use. The installation was a breeze (no pun intended), even though I hadn't ever installed a ceiling fan before. The fan is nearly silent on its low and medium settings. The highest setting measured at 42dB averaged across the installed room (about the same as a zipper from 7ft/2m). In short, if you’re looking for a fan with a remote, look no further.. at this one. You’d think having a remote would mean you can lay in bed and read for a while, get sleepy and simply click off the light and go to sleep. Doesn't move air like it should.
This is a beautiful fan and it's fairly easy to install as with most Harbor Breeze fans I've purchased. I bought this specifically for it's wet rating because it was going g on my back porch. However, I could barely feel any air when standing right below it on high (less than 2 feet overhead). And yes, it was turning in the correct direction. Did not work
Spent about 90 minutes putting this up only to find out it didn't work. Troubleshot the wiring, even hooked up another light fixture to check it - they worked but this didn't. Another 90 minutes to take it apart, pack it up and take it back to the store and my day was shot. I've hung at least 20 ceiling fans in my life with no issues so this one was just a klunker. Looks great, remote doesn't work.
My remote didn't work out of the box. Called the support line and they sent me a new remote and receiver. After the headache of installing the fan twice and having the remote only work intermittently (or at extremely close range) I was told to return it or they could send another replacement remote. Save yourself the headache. 2 stars because it looks great and puts out good air but the remote is a must with this fan. I'd keep it if I didn't need to turn the light on and off via the remote.
