The fan is of good quality construction. All components are actually heavy weight including the glass shade, the only exception being the blades as they are plastic. However that is understandable considering this fan is suitable for damp locations and pressboard blades of a standard fan would droop in high humidity. If you are flush mounting it, that’s a chore. We installed a pair in our covered lanai, using 18" matte black downrods (purchased separately) and with the cinnamon blade color showing. We have separate light and fan switches on the wall, and this unit has a blue wire and a black wire so it can be wired to separate switches - Yay! Installation was pretty standard. We bought this over a year ago. It was not too hard to install compared to other fans. I had looked at (literally) hundreds of fans before I decided on this one. I love the vintage and somewhat industrial style of it. I was initially disappointed that it would only hold 3 candelabra bulbs and only at 40w each. I really like the looks of this fan. I bought 3 for my porches. They were fairly easy to assemble. I wish I would have realized that I could have bought these with the remote. Amazing old-world charm!
We purchased 8 of these fans last year for both indoor and outdoor installations. The light from the lantern has an amazing & unique old world look with a soft glow. You can change the bulbs to led ones if you want a brighter light. We run the fans for 10 plus hours a day inside and have had no issues at all. I love that these fans can work on a remote for either the light or fan option or both. I am purchasing more now for our barn!
Great Looking Fan
I bought 2 for my front covered porch and they look great and at night the lighting adds a unique look. Installation was straight forward but a word of caution.....Tne ceiling mount has a small hook to hold the motor while connecting the power wires; Caution...........the hook is precarious to hold it without coming off;;;I would advise you to buy a small "S" hook from your hardware store to hold it..............the first fan almost fell but I was able to catch it..
