Had to go through three fans to get one good one. First one had a cosmetic place on one of the blades that was too much to ignore. Second one had a hum. Third one worked but here's the details. Some folks who did reviews talked about the fan humming. The instructions say "DO NOT Use with a Variable Speed Control". Only used one that specifically has Off Low Medium High Off. Infinitely Variable adjusters do so by cutting off part of the wave form going to the fan vs. adjusting the amplitud...
Now my fan matches my kitchen
My 90's gold gaudy fan finely died a well wanted death. I bought this brushed nickel fan as a replacement, what a nice upgrade. There where a few head scratching moments. First there is no hardware to mount it to your ceiling box. I would suggest buying a bag of 8/32 3/4 machined screws with the flat shoulders just in case your screws are bad. Before you mount the bracket to the ceiling look at where your wires are going, place the bracket with the wires coming out the open end at the bottom. Th...
Best Purchase Ever
You will love this ceiling fan!!! #1 This fan is extremely easy to install. I am an electrician and have installed many different grades of ceiling fans, expensive, and cheap ones, and this fan is a snap to say the least. #2 It looks great, also the other side of the blades other than mat black is auburn if you so desire to tie in with the rest of your decor should you choose to do so. I went with the mat black. #3 After installation, this fan is dead center wobble free, and absolutely quiet, eve...
Fan chain broke and now is unusable
This fab worked fine without issue for a while. Then within the last week, both fans we have of this exact make broke of the chains inside the motor and are now unusable. This fan has no longevity. Barely 5 years old. I’ve had fans in my house for twice this long with no issues!
Great buy!
So my previous harbor breeze that lasted nearly 20 years, running non stop got zapped the other night by a lightning surge and stopped working. Poor old thing would grind when shut off for cleaning, lol. It was time to replace anyway. I found this one in stock, got her home and mounted. The hanger bracket was the same and didn't need to be changed so install was easy. You can use either brown wood grain or solid black. I went with black. The fan is silent, puts out a ton of air flow on max, me...
You'll need a special tool for the blade assembley
I bought this fan to replace a 25-year old fan above my bed that was ugly, but it was silent when operating. It finally gave out, so I was torn whether to spend $200 on a Hunter or Kichler fan with similar features - or $50 for this one. This one has a slight hum, which becomes more pronounced when the room is dark and quiet. I'm still deciding if I will keep it. But my chief complaint with this fan is that a special screwdriver bit is required to assemble the blades to the brackets. The ins...
Does NOT accept universal light kit. And OFF-white
I bought this fan specifically because it said it would accept a universal light kit which I already had. It did NOT fit. When I called the Harbor Breeze customer support line, they told me this fan only accepts Harbor Breeze light kits. So then I thought, ok, I'll forgo the fan. But there was no switch housing cap in the box, so the wires are all hanging out exposed. That same CS rep told me to call the manufacturer to get a replacement. Pretty disgusting considering I spent $125 having this t...
1 out of 6 preforming like new
I purchased six units from Lowes. The first unit’s motor failed with in 30 days and was exchanged. One unit has remained strong after 5 years but the others have stopped working or the speed has slowed where it barley moves air. I would not recommend harbor breeze as I assume they would have the same or similar motors. I have had 7 of the exact model and they operate at different levels after 5 years. 1 at 100%, 2 at 75%, 2 at less the 50%, and 2 dead.
Hello Aeeo, we're glad to hear that your unit has been going strong and hope to be able to help with the others. Please contact our customer serv...

Replacing the 16 year old HBC 52" with the same.
On the one hand the Harbor Breeze Classic 52-in Antique Bronze Indoor Ceiling Fan that I had installed 16 years ago lasted 16 years. On the other hand is 16 years the best I can expect. The old fan motor just froze-up. A DIYer with electric motor knowledge could probably refurbish the motor for $5 in parts and a couple of hours of joyous equipment tinkering. For me, the $50 for a replacement was a fairly painless alternative. The challenge was that it hung 3 ft. down from the peak of a 18 ft...

Good fan, good price
I just put 2 of these fans up in my garage/workshop last week; they look & work great. The garage has a 10-ft ceiling, and I didn't want to compromise too much height with a long downrod or a light kit, in case I'm carrying long boards or ladders. So, I skipped the lighted models, & used the 4" downrod that comes with the package. Before this, I had put up 20 ceiling fans in 4 different houses, although I'm not an electrician. The white fan against white ceiling looks nice, and is visually, as w...
