We ended up returning the fan, not b/c there was anything wrong with it, but b/c it didn’t meet our needs for a fan with no vent holes that wasps could nest in. We’ve had problems with that before, and I didn’t notice the vents on this model until after I’d ordered. In the box, the fan looked to be good quality with a nice finish, but I can’t give a truly experienced review.

Our old fan died and this one match one we bought about a couple of years ago, so everything matches now, great fan.

Very good fan, quiet, fine looking, moves the air.
I give the fan 5 stars as it performs its funtion well and looks good on my screened porch. Install hints and comments to Harbor Breeze to follow. I will doc it half a star for the instructions. I can see Harbor Breeze monitors these reviews, so here is where you need to update the document. Step 2 says to remove the rubber spacers and screws from the motor housing (to make way for the future blades). However, it does not mention to remove the rubber stopper and use the access hole to do it....
Excellent fan deserving better ratings
I bought two of these fans in my patio. With all the bad reviews about the design flaw, I was prepared for the worst. The main complaint from other reviewers is how difficult it is to attach the fan blades to the motor. I quickly realized that there has to be a trick because with how the screws are located, it is impossible to reach them with any kind of screwdriver / drill / driver, just like the negative reviews stated. It took me less than 10 seconds to find a rubber insert inside the lightin...

Difficult to impossible to install.
I bought two of these at the same time. One box was opened but looked complete and the other appeared to have been opened but re-taped. Although they both looked the same on the outside they were slightly different. The first one was difficult to install primarily because there is little room for fat fingers to hold screws that are not magnetic thus had to be held to install. Also the screws are not tapered at all so holes and screws must be perfectly aligned to get them started. Frustratin...

Buyer beware
This fan is advertised as using LED bulbs. I purchased 2 from my local Lowes store. I has LED bulbs, the other has incandescent candelabra bulbs. Apparently, they changed the model number although the SKU # remained the same. The old model number uses incandescent bulbs, the new model number uses LED. Check the side of the box which tells you which bulb it uses. Unfortunately, i didn’t think to check this until I was installing the second one and noticed the bulbs were different. I didn’t want t...

Excellent Instructions. Hardware Not So Much
If you read and follow the included instructions, installing this fan is pretty easy. My only complaint is that although they give you extra hardware for most of the fan's components, the don't give you a extra 4 mm screw to secure the switch housing cap to the fan. The screws are difficult to install if you've added the light kit. Normal sized hands don't really fit in the allotted space and since the screws are aluminum a magnetic screwdriver doesn't help much. After dropping them two or thre...

Fan noise and light dimming
Fan Issues Echolake ceiling fan. Item #0747603, Over all it had good reviews. So, I went to my local Lowes store and paid a electrician to install. After it was installed it made a loud humming sound and when I turned off the fan the lights went dim. Yes, that is correct when the fan was turned off the lights went dim. Given the good reviews I thought I just had a run of bad luck and returned it and obtained the same product. It has the same problems. I have more funds used to install than...
Nice Fans - Easy Installation
I bought two of these for my patio. I read several reviews discussing how hard it was to install. I'm not sure if the company changed the instructions or the design, but I had each fan assembled in about 15 minutes. I followed the instructions and used the right tools and both went together perfectly and easily. Regarding the comments about the screws for the fan blade mounts - with the fan on the ground, light kit side facing upwards, simply put the two screws in the holes for fan blade mounts,...
From Echo Lake 52-in Bronze Uncovered Outdoor Ceiling Fan With Light Chain
Hello Johnnyman, Thanks for your detailed product review.
Great Outdoor Fan!
I just installed this fan this morning. I have installed several ceiling fans over the years and this one has the same basic installation method. The only part that I did find a bit tricky was attaching the blades to the fan housing itself. You are working from below, holding the blade up with one hand, and trying to keep the screw on the screwdriver and screw it in at the same time. To help with this, I put a sleeve of electrical tape on my screwdriver that extended just past the end of the bit...
