We ended up returning the fan, not b/c there was anything wrong with it, but b/c it didn’t meet our needs for a fan with no vent holes that wasps could nest in. We’ve had problems with that before, and I didn’t notice the vents on this model until after I’d ordered. In the box, the fan looked to be good quality with a nice finish, but I can’t give a truly experienced review.

I give the fan 5 stars as it performs its funtion well and looks good on my screened porch. Install hints and comments to Harbor Breeze to follow. I will doc it half a star for the instructions. I can see Harbor Breeze monitors these reviews, so here is where you need to update the document. Step 2 says to remove the rubber spacers and screws from the motor housing (to make way for the future blades). However, it does not mention to remove the rubber stopper and use the access hole to do it....
Excellent fan deserving better ratings
I bought two of these fans in my patio. With all the bad reviews about the design flaw, I was prepared for the worst. The main complaint from other reviewers is how difficult it is to attach the fan blades to the motor. Difficult to impossible to install.
I bought two of these at the same time. One box was opened but looked complete and the other appeared to have been opened but re-taped. Although they both looked the same on the outside they were slightly different. The first one was difficult to install primarily because there is little room for fat fingers to hold screws that are not magnetic thus had to be held to install. This fan is advertised as using LED bulbs. I purchased 2 from my local Lowes store. I has LED bulbs, the other has incandescent candelabra bulbs. Apparently, they changed the model number although the SKU # remained the same. The old model number uses incandescent bulbs, the new model number uses LED. Excellent Instructions. Hardware Not So Much
If you read and follow the included instructions, installing this fan is pretty easy. My only complaint is that although they give you extra hardware for most of the fan's components, the don't give you a extra 4 mm screw to secure the switch housing cap to the fan. The screws are difficult to install if you've added the light kit. Installation of more than one fan is lengthy.
The fans are excellent, so far, and they are what we expected. The installation was longer than we expected. It took more than one person to install the three fans.

I just installed this fan this morning. I have installed several ceiling fans over the years and this one has the same basic installation method. The only part that I did find a bit tricky was attaching the blades to the fan housing itself.
