This was a nice washer when we first purchased it. But within 3 years it started breaking down. First the agitator had to be replaced. Around a year later the clutch AND transmission need to be replaced. Someone gave me a washer they'd had for 3 years and it lasted longer than this one.

If you don't care about your clothes, Buy this!
Fortunately for me I do not own this wretched machine, as I rent and it was already here when I moved in. Unfortunately, I have the displeasure of dealing with this horrible machine. It doesn't fill the tub up with any visible water in the tap cold, cold, cool, or color water temp settings, even when it's set to the max water level setting. You can hear it sloshing around from the depths unknown, but the tub itself is empty. I tested this theory by letting it fill with nothing in it and letting ...

Too many issues
I chose this machine because of the agitator and ability to determine the water level. After 2.5 years it developed the loud grinding noise during the wash cycle. A quick search said this was a common defect in this machine. I got the machine serviced with a new drive belt and new mode shifter. Now, 1 year later...same noise. It varies on when it happens, but at times it is after a 2nd load. Seems I can do one load a day, sometimes. The other drawback is my model, GTW335, does not have a rinse a...

Spin- cycle Roar
The spin cycle roar was soo loud. We had to leave the laundry room and close the door. Definitely in the db hearing loss range. Sounder like someone missed lubing the main bearing in assembly. Well it finally died and am going back to Maytag.

Worthless Junk
This washer is the most worthless pile of garbage I’ve ever seen (even compared to my ex husband!)! This unit was purchased a year and a half ago by my boyfriend’s parents to replace the 50+ year old Maytag in our farm house. I wish they would have listened when I told them to buy an LG. We are always incredibly busy and I don’t have time to mess around trying to figure out what this washer is going to do or not do today. Since the second week we owned this thing, we have had all the issues yo...

WORST WASHING MACHINE EVER MADE!!!
I absolutely HATE this washing machine with a Passion!! I feel like it DOESN'T get my laundry very clean at all; It's Terrible for Heavy Duty loads; It's Incapable of filling up with enough water to be able to properly Wash & Rinse anything but a small little tiny load, but Honestly you're probably better off Hand Washing that amount!!! This is NOT just my Opinion either- my Grandmother and my Parents also purchased this same model and were so unhappy & frustrated with its performance that they ...

Great washing machine, very satisfied. I recommend
I did a ton of research for a new unit before purchasing, including watching MANY YouTube videos, and it's curious to me how this machine has lots of high ratings, and then a small subset of people who seem to hate it and regret purchasing it. This made me wary but as I did my homework in my price range, this machine kept rising to the top. It still had better ratings than any of the other washing machines in its category. So I took a chance and went for this one. Full disclosure - I have only h...

Not so great washer!
I bought this washer a year or so ago. It has been a disappointment since day one. Fod starters, the water fill level, whether low to high, isn't accurate nor sufficient. Also when using speed wash for a quick load, it doesn't spin out the clothing well, they are still very wet. Load capacity isnt great at all. If I'm washing just a few towels, the washer bangs around, and doesn't spin out well, no matter the setting. This washer doesn't clean my clothing like my last washer, which was an Estate...

Regret
Regret getting rid of my 20yr old Kenmore.(still working) I replaced with a new modem whirlpool no agitator high efficiency(he) washer. Saves you energy and water they claim. LIE,LIE,LIE! My clothes would come out dry, dirty and had to wash on bulky up to 3Xs just to get it half clean, & had to go to laundromats for medium soiled. That thing broke within 5yrs. Bought me a Maytag with an agitator thinking I got me back a traditional washer. Wrong again! It had a clear lid, very nice looking, threw...

How do I hate this washer? Let me count the ways!
1. Due to its "energy efficient" design, I have to wash almost every load on the "maximum" water setting in order to get our clothes at all clean. I quickly learned to never select the "precise fill" setting, which doesn't even come close to providing enough water to cover our clothes. I occasionally use the "high" water setting, but only for the smallest of loads. Despite opting for the higher water fill levels, our clothes still often don't really smell much different after they're washed, ...
