Near the front of the refrigerator door on the floor was found a black piece of plastic smooth on one side and broken edges on the back after further review I noticed at the handle of the freezer left-hand door, was pulled away approximately 1/8 inch. Longevity

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have owned this unit for over 10 years now and it is still going strong. We moved it from Texas to Washington State and can't be happier with the performance. The freezer capacity could be better, but we have just purchased a GE upright freezer and are looking forward to the same stellar performance and longevity!

A good buy that requires more purchasing

Reliability

Overall poor rating, only lasted seven years. This appliance was nice in appearance and in storage space, however, the ice maker failed and freezer no longer maintaining correct temperature after five years, was told we needed a new compressor. Last GE refrigerator for our home.

This refrigerator is a total disappointment. The actual finish appears to be very thin so it Is nearly impossible to look and keep clean. The external water dispenser often drips and typically Drips down the front leaving it looking dirty and streaky. the front doors have needed to be adjusted more than once. Horrible refrigerator

Drawers are so sharp they take the skin off if you bump your hand I to them. Drawers handles cracked after little use. Led light in freezer stopped working . Ice maker is so noisy you can hear it over the tv.

Very Unreliable

This refrigerator has been very unreliable. I bought it new from a major retailer a few years ago and the motherboard that controls the circulation fan has failed a second time causing spoilage of very expensive food in addition to the cost of repair. I do not plan on buying a GE product again.

Good value and Quality for the Money

We purchased this unit as a replacement for another manufacturer that we owned for 4 months when it started to fail. We changed brands fully knowing that many components are the same we just hoped for better QC with the GE label. Overall even though in the same price field the GE is head and shoulders above the other "major brand" we were replacing. Fit, finish and feel of the GE is great. Typical features

Product operated as expected for 4 years adterwards had problems with freezing vegetables, etc. In the middle fridge area. Top did not freeze but cold as expected. Any items placed in the middle were subject to freezing. Also, brittle plastic cracking showed at year 3 and only got worse over a period of time. Some drawers were cracked so bad in year 5 that they no longer work. These can be expensive ti replace.
