Great disappointment.
The entire cooling system and compressor were replaced after failing. The refrigerator was delivered in March and failed within 3 months. This refrigerator replaced the exact same model I purchased 2.5 years ago. That refrigerator's cooling system and compressor failed as well. When it couldnt be repaired by Bodewell GE fulfilled the warranty. I appreciated the replacement; extremely disappointed in having the same failure occur. I am praying the repairs will last.

Gorgeous refrigerator
Beautiful refrigerator. Love the bottom mounted freezer. Have moveable shelves which makes getting to food much easier. And all the refrigerated product are higher up making it much easier to reach them, no bending over.

Not exactly a successor to PYE22KYKSS
I am a little disappointed that this model does not display the amount of water dispenser like the model that it allegedly replaced in the product line up. ALSO despite being listed as a replacement for a discontinued model it uses a different water filter and I have a tjree pack remaining from the previous refrigerator. Any chance GE will give me a credit for three RPEFE filters so I can now purchase XWFE ones

Freezer died within two weeks of installation
The freezer stopped working within 2 weeks of installation. The refrigerator portion continued to work. Lowe's came to look at the refrigerator and said they could not repair it. I figured they would then work to replace the refrigerator. But no, I was directed to contact GE. This will be the last large appliance I buy from a big box store

Do not recommend this refrigerator
I hate this refrigerator and regret this purchase. The doors will not stay open as you get something out of the refrigerator. They continue to close on you which is very awkward trying to keep it open. On the other hand, when you go to close the doors, you have to push them shut rather than a gentle push to get them to close. Not a fan of this and do not recommend.

We purchased this item, PYE22KYNFS, in May 2024 and had to replace it in May 2026. However, we have had 3 repair companies come out since December 2025 (replacing various components including refrigerant, refrigerant drier filter, evaporator coil); they couldn't fix it for longer than a few months each, so it really only lasted a year and a half. We bought this unit in March. We are still dealing with issues with GE. There is no reliable customer service. We are now set to receive our THIRD new unit to replace to fix another problem with the second unit. It was shipped with no freon! Lowe’s doesn’t have any responsibilities because after 48 hrs they turn it over to GE. It has been an overwhelming nightmare all the while without a refrigerator for 5 months.
