Washer is less than 3 years old (delivered 08/17/23) and it just stopped working. We are only 2 people in the home and do not overwork the machine by any means. By looking online, it appears that it may be the lid lock, and also says something about the circuit board needs updating. Of course, we don't know how to do this, so will have to call in a repairman. I would not recommend this washer. Not built to last.
Terrible mechanics washer died after 3 yrs.
This was has been the worst washer I have ever had. I had to have the belt and clutch repaired just after a year and a half. Now the transmission went. The washer was bought in February of 2023. It died today and I had to buy another one. Not worth repairing again. I will NEVER PURCHASE another GE Product. The dryer didn’t work either right after it was delivered. They had to replace the entire guts of the dryer. That was purchased in April of 2025. Not reliable products.

In Another Life, This Thing Was A Printer
Where is the option for negative stars? I HATE THIS THING!! I just finished another round with it (it won this one) and finally just threw the “unspun” clothes into dryer. This thing absolutely does NOT run in balance. Yes, we know how to load a washer. Our last washer, a brand that I should have rebought, obviously, rarely went off balance. This thing rarely runs in balance. I expect to have to replace the little green “this piece of dung is off balance again” light from excessive use. Compromi...

It sucks since new
It sucks since new It goes into a limb and doesn’t take water. Also goes 100 miles per hour while spinning.

Lasted 3 Years - I expected better.
The bolt that secures the agitator to the base plate broke in half. A $2 part that rendered the unit inoperable. Crappy design in my opinion. I hope the Maytag replacement for this GE fares better - a whole lot better.

Agitator Bolt
We bought this washer (GTW465ASN9WW) 2 years ago and the agitator bolt (part # WH43X34257)sheared off inside the housing was not stainless steel! We bought the type with a stainless steel basin for a reason and for the most important component of the agitator to not be stainless is what I believe they call planned obsolescence and it is disgusting. To replace the housing is half the cost of the entire machine not to mention labor if I had to have someone come out! When I initially thought it was...

Not pleased with product
I have only had this washer for 2 1/2 years, and I have already had issues with the agitator coming undone completely due to a bolt that broke off, and now it quits mid-cycle. I am trying to run through diagnostic codes that I have seen on Youtube, however, I no longer have a manual and can't access one to diagnose the issue.

Very Disappointing Washer
This washer goes off-balance all the time when washing blankets or towels. It also does not spin all of the water out, even when selecting the extra spin. Now, after just 2.5 years, the transmission is burned out. This has been the most disappointing washer I have ever owned.

I HATE THIS MACHINE! DO NOT BUT
This machine does wash in enough water no matter what setting or cycles you use or how few clothes you put in, because it's all computerized. So the capacity is a null point. Whoever programmed this machine needs to be fired. Do not get fooled by the deep fill option or water level options. My partner has a HE Whirlpool and it preforms 100 percent better than this one because it USES WATER! Even the manual confirms that the clothes will not be submerged when washing. Crazy, right? My previous...

Absolutely Terrible!
I am finished with GE. This terrible washing machine was the final straw. For two years we have tried to get it to fill up beyond half way but it just doesn't. Clothes do not come out clean. It's extremely LOUD. Finally, after only two short years it just stopped working. Would power on but not start wash cycle. Even unplugging it would do nothing. It remained on. Husband finally had to do the Fonzi fist smack to get it to respond. After a month of this we decided to get rid of it & buy another ...
