I received my GE 30-in 5 burners Smooth surface Black Electric Cooktop and I was very dissapointed after waiting a week for the delivery. The cooktop that was delivered the box was opened and the cooktop looked used. The cables at the end had tape of them. I am surprised Lowe’s doesn’t do quality control before shipping merchandise. Then I called the store to request a pickup and asked for another cooktop to be delivered at the same time and they told me it couldn’t be done. Horrible service

Good selection of sizes (heating elements).

This stove yop replaced an earlier GE version due to a crack in the glasstop. Crack was caused by dropping a cast iron pot on th eedge.

Replacement

I bought this to replace a GE I bought 4 years ago. The burners on that one were not heating evenly, and it scratched easily. So far, this one is OK, but I have only used it twice.

Ok so far - but have questions

I like the look of the surface and so far (only 2 weeks) it cleans fine. Not crazy about the knobs in front, but it had two flexible burners that I did want, so I'll have to get used to knobs in the way. I read a lot of bad reviews on many different smooth cooktops on different models and different brands - so I'm trying to be very, very careful about cleaning it and not setting anything on it. GE Exact fit guarantee is real

Purchased this to replace the same product from 5 years ago. Actually, not quite the same product as the earlier purchase was the "Profile" version and had stainless accents. The best feature about this product is that all GE cooktops fit in the same cut-out. That means the homeowner can replace it easily. This is the third replacement in 25 years. Buyer's Remorse

I love GE products and have always had GE ovens and cooktops. I was so excited to replace my old white coil-burner electric cooktop with this smooth-top 5-burner. I've only had this product installed for a few weeks, but my excitement did not last long. Here are the issues with this product: 1. Simple option. Budget friendly

Simple and easy install. Simple operation. Not a lot of bells and whistles. Need to have pans/pots that are completely clean and dry on the bottom

It was easy to install, but had to wait for cook-top trim to arrive to finish installation.

Nice for the price

I purchased a home with a 30 inch electric cooktop that needed to be replaced. It was cost prohibited to have the granite cut to allow for a larger cooktop to be installed. The unit works very well and I chose it for the 5 burners but in reality if you use large pots on the large burners it is difficult to fit small pots in place on the small burners. Excellence in a small package

Five burners in a 30" cooktop. Knob settings are hard to read (grey on black) without direct overhead light. Central Knob placement gets in the way of frying pan handles. Shallow depth (about 4") leaves room for a drawer underneath. This replaces our previous GE cooktop which lasted 15 years until a power surge took out its brain. Looking forward to many years of service from this model.
