Maybe the company is the problem

This model was given to us by the builder when we purchased a new construction home. This dishwasher lasted 4 years but the worse part is we hardly use our dishwasher. The dishwasher stopped turning on about 4 months ago. I also have a GE microwave that doesn't work either. The turntable started spinning when you open the door and then stops when you close the door. The microwave continued to work even though it was spinning but after a couple of months the turn table no longer spins when in use...

STARTED DISCOLORING WITHIN 3 MONTHS, NO HELP FROM GE OR LOWES, GE SENT OUT SERVICE REP WHO SAID THE SURFACE WOULD BE REPLACED AND NEVER COMPLETED NOW GE STATES CASE CLOSED AND WILL NOT ANSWER PHONE EMAIL OR TEXT. HORRIBLE

LOOKS beautiful, and no melting knobs so far but this thing kinda blows. power burner really isn't anything special despite it being way more powerful than my last one. the main issue is all 5 knobs. they go from 5% (which blows out sometimes) to 30% with no interim integrals until you hit 30-100%

Leaked Gas Internally Right Out of the Box

First, the base is much bigger than the previous cooktop (only a very small lip actually sits on the countertop) so I had to cut my granite to get this to fit. Then, I hooked it up and my gas meter shows it has an internally leak. Not the connecting points, but inside the burner. Lowe's will not exchange because their policy is that it must be requested within 48 hours of pickup. So now I must attempt to get it fixed through GE--not fun!

Letters dissappear with cleaning.

Bought a brand new house 2 years ago that came with several GE appliances, lower grade of GE products. The cooktop's Stainless Steel gauge is on the poorest grade, it scratches with a blink of an eye. After cleaning the cooktop every night I noticed that the letters around the knobs started to disappear, it's a hazard. Safety Hazard - Defective Design

Subject: Safety Hazard - Defective Design The placement of the burners in relation to the igniters is poorly designed. One of the igniters actually melted, and when I tried to turn it off, I severely burned my fingers. While I generally trust this brand, I cannot recommend this specific model at all. It is a safety risk.

Read your receipt carefully!

I have no problem with the item itself but with the salesperson who put my order into the computer. I specifically asked for a 36” stovetop but he entered 30” instead. After waiting for over 2 weeks for it to arrive I opened the package only to find that my stovetop was 6” to short for the counter top opening. He also couldn’t answer any of my questions about that and other stovetops. A good salesperson needs good product knowledge and product training before being turned loose on the customers....

Nice Unit with Large Burners

I like the look of this unit for the most part, and the large burners are helpful. The knobs seem a *little* cheap, but it's not a show stopper. I would normally never buy GE, but the builder installed this item.
