Shop everything you need to build your own outdoor 43.5-inch round firepit with the Flagstone Firepit Kit Project Collection. This collection contains concrete retaining wall blocks to be used to form the fire pit and create a cozy spot for friends and family to gather. Use the interlocking pavers to frame the entertaining space. First, start with site preparation and excavation. Stake out the area where the retaining wall block will be. Dig a small trench, so half of the block fits in the ground. Next tamp the soil in the trench to create a ridged surface. Add 1” of sand to the bottom of the trench. Then, start leveling and laying stones. Lay stone side by side and check that they are level. Then, stack additional courses with the construction adhesive staggered on the course below. Finally, stack stones in courses, staggering the joints to the wall height.
