Good power, fast recharge, but messy mulching

After damaging mowings by three different lawn services, I finally went back to mowing the yard myself. I'd gotten rid of my old gas mower when I had a great lawn service, so I recently bought an EGO. I can get half of our very large yard mowed on one charge, which is about all I can do at one time. But the recharging time is so speedy that I'd easily be able to mow the other half of the yard within a few hours if I had the stamina. Love the mower but wish it would cut the blades of grass more thoroughly. I have to go back and recut many times.

This is my first self-propelled walk-behind mower, also first with stacked blades. Starting the drive on too steep a slope or too uneven ground sometimes gets a few jumps before it gets moving smoothly. Handle has enough irregularities that I need gloves for hand protection. Great first experience

My first experience with my new EGO mower was excellent. After cutting a small area of tall new grass the previous week, I completed a full mow of my entire yard and still had two battery-level indicators remaining. Lacks uplift

Used it 4 or 5 times now. Every time, each of the front wheels mats down a line of grass as you go along, and there’s insufficient uplift to raise the matted grass to be cut by the blades. So when you’re done, there’s a line of uncut grass along every pass with the mower. This is with about a 25% overlap. Maybe 50% would eliminate this, but then you’re adding quite a bit of time - and battery - to the mow.

Easy to use

The new mower is great. Easy to use no gas or oil to deal with! The underside is easy to clean and the mover deck is a cinch to adjust. I like that the clippings bag is behind the mover so you can get into tighter places. My yard is hilly and the propulsion helps.

Light weight with power to spare

This lawnmower is overkill for our 50x100ft yard. We require power assist on our steep front lawn. This mower is extremely lightweight & easily managed without the power assist. Having said that, the power assist is very powerful & easy to use. The mower battery only used 1 bar for our entire lawn. The lawn is done in minutes with this new mower. Fantastic. The headlights.were a surprise which we won't be using..Great powerful mower for large properties. More than what we need but a joy to use.

Great Mower but....

This is overall a great mower. I love the compact storage option, the overall look and the ease of use. However, I have two complaints. The first is that for a mower with 8.3 ft lb of torque it sure bogs down a lot more than my former gas powered mower that was a bolens MTD 140cc mower with 5 ft lb of torque. Bad: Self propelled stop working (2024 model), now is in the shop waiting for spear parts. Good: Repair covered by 5 year warranty. Also, same performance as my old 6.5hp gas mower, minus winterization, spring tune up, noice, gas, oil and spark plugs.
