The saw is well-made and durable, with useful features like a dust collection port. However, battery life can be a concern, especially for more demanding projects. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] NOTE: Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review. I already own the corded Dremel Saw-Max (SM20), and I am very happy with it, so I was a very excited to receive its cordless counterpart. The corded version actually uses a smaller (3-inch) blade (SM series), while the Ultra -Saw takes a slightly larger (3.5-inch) blade (US series). However, I was disappointed to find that the depth of cut is the same for both saws (...

Dremel Makes Working in small tight area possible.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I had to remodel our bathroom, the first steps were to remove the wallboard and replace the Termites damage. To reach the small areas where the studs were framed, the Dremel tool with a cutting wheel for wood removal and a steel cutting disk for nails, could reach into the small area so the wood replacement could be replaced. After the new wallboards were installed, I needed to have the shower panels extend over the bathtub on both ends ...

Very handy, if pricey, compact saw
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review. I do a lot of hobby projects including model railroading in both HO and G scales, some light woodworking, and general household repairs. What I can do is often limited by not owning the right kind of saw for the job and also being intimidated by many power tools. The Ultra-Saw solves a lot of these problems. At first inspection, the saw seems rugged and well constructe...

Obvious Addition
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] . Product Review: Dremel Ultra-Saw us20v * Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review.* Please understand that disclaimer had zero influence on this review. That said, I honestly had a pre-conceived pessimistic outlook on the idea of a rechargeable hand tool, other than the common drill. This comes from personal experience- all of which resulted in a fairly dismal outcome. But, this one being a Dremel ...

Could Use Some Improvements
There is a lot to love, but there are two things holding me up from that 5th star - and to be fair, both of my issues could be user error: 1. The metal bar on the edge guide could really benefit from some measurement ticks to ensure you are getting the desired width. Assembling the Edge Guide appears to be relatively easy, but in reality was kind of a pain and very awkward. Our first cut with it went fine enough, although getting the perfect measurement was difficult with the blade already inst...

Great Hobby Tool
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tool is very handy for short small jobs. My belt sander stop bar broke off, and I couldn't get a new replacement, so I used my Dremel Ultra Saw 20V Max to cut some steel square tubing, I welded it to a piece of 3/4 x 3/4 angle iron, used my saw to grind off the rough welds and shaped and slotted the angle iron so it fit perfectly to the belt sander. Job done, see picture. Next I had to repair a section of piping for my sprinkler system,...

Color Me Impressed!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used other cordless mini-saws, and was a bit skeptical when Dremel asked me to review the Ultra Saw 20V, of course, I had to push it to the limit. I know it is made for medium duty projects and will not keep up with a corded worm drive saw, or will it? Quarter inch plywood was just too easy. I dug a chunk of 3/4" hard, dry, oak out of the bin. The included carbide coated blade was amazing. It is not a typical toothed blade, so it has a d...

Works great…except edge guide
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The weather finally warmed up enough here in North Dakota for me to get outside and try out my US20v-01 cordless ultra-saw. I did not have an ongoing project so I tested it by cutting five different types of materials from my scrap bin. I used the US500 wood cutting blade to cut cedar wooden stakes, PVC pipe and 3/4" ply-wood using the edge guide. I also used the US510 metal cutting blade to cut copper pipe and a bronze color steel rod. The...

Update after 2 years
i have had my saw for a couple of years and used it for mostly small projects. i was happy with its performance. i recently bought a house that needed a new kitchen floor. in the mess of moving, the only saw i could find was my Dremel 20. i was installing floating cork and there were a number of cuts to be made. Using the stock wood blade, the saw performed flawlessly. I really thought the cork would be tough on the edge, but the unique carbide design cut as well at the end as it did in the begi...

A Must Have Tool for Any DIYer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a huge fan of Dremel products. I had this product around six months ago with one battery and sometimes I was not able to use it to complete my project. The battery life is highly acceptable but some projects need more cutting time. I decided to purchase an extra backup battery for working without interruptions. Having another battery is a must and highly recommended. As a DIY'er, crafter, and hobbyist, this saw is very handy, gives me a ...
