Not So Good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this about year and half ago. The attachment is very awkward to use trimming dog nails. Motor never sounded smooth and soon sounded not so good. I 3D printed a simple head/attachment and it worked well trimming. Motor screech to stop and very turned again. Poor quality control, unit grinds the nail guard

Unit received does not fit together properly. The plastic nail guard grinds against the sanding wheel at the lowest setting. Disappointing quality from Dremel (maybe due to their outsourcing to manufacture product). Nail guard is nearly destroyed after using at the lowest setting and will have to get another one of these to replace it. The problem is the blue spacer is too tall and unless you remove the spacer, the sanding wheel hits the plastic guard and grinds it instead of your pets nails...

Design flaw with attachment

There is no issue with the actual grinder, but with the pet attachment. It is impossible to reach setting 3 on the clear cap - I ensured all attachments are assembled as required prior to putting on cap, but the cap is physically blocked by the sander disc. The manual’s directions for changing to the sanding disc instruct you to twist the cap to setting 3, so beyond the fact it exists there is intention to use it. I have a large dog and his nails are too big to safely and easily go into the safe...

Makes the impossible possible

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tool made trimming my Shar-Peis nails so much easier. My dog would not let me clip his nails using conventional clippers because he would put up such a fight and wiggled out of any hold ai could put him in. They have a notoriously low quick and it is easy to nick it when using conventional nail clippers. Shockingly he allowed me to use this device on him without much of a struggle.

Not great for little dogs because of design flaw.

Did Dremel have an engineer involved in the design? I would like this a lot except for a glaringly obvious design flaw. I can’t believe they overlooked the fact that you can’t use the guard attachment on the lowest (#3) setting. When pushed down as far as it can go the sanding disc sticks above the grey part of the guard making the disc contact the clear part of the guard if you try to put it on the #3 setting. You Cannot Go Wrong With Dremmel!
