DEWALT 20V MAX XR Brushless Random Orbital Sander Kit with POWERSTACK™ 5Ah Battery and 2Ah Battery

Needed a DeWalt replacement battery.

Replacement DeWalt drill battery. Needed a replacement DeWalt drill battery. After some local searching, found one at local Lowe’s. Sticker shock is an understatement! Was between a rock and a hard place as I needed the battery. My drill takes a 2 amp battery, the battery I was sold is a 5 amp, was told by store associate that amperage would not affect the battery, in fact is would hold charge longer. Made the purchase anyhow.

Sent returned defective battery

Ordered two DeWalt batteries from Lowes. First one was brand new, no issues. Second one was beat up, not functional, clearly had been returned, put back in the warehouse, then sent to me (attaching pictures of both new and used batteries received). Reached out to Lowe's customer service, spent 50 minutes on the phone with the rep and her manager. Per Lowes policy, they cannot exchange the battery, even though their site lists 247 in stock. 20-30% MORE POWER!

At least on my power hog Dewalt blower it is noticeably stronger than older type batteries. Also use on my battery powered mini chainsaw. Cut down a decent size tree and still used blower after to clean up. Only neg is the price but cheapest here at Lowe's. I bought 2 :)

Fire Hazard!

I received this for 2025 Christmas. Only used it twice. Now the charge level lights stay on all the time. The battery still works, but Im afraid to charge it - the Battery Management System may be broken. If so, this could start a fire while charging. I recommend you look elsewhere for a battery.
