I run a construction company and will never buy another DeWalt product again after this saw. Went to change the blade and the bolt holding down the guard was so tight that it stripped out and had to be drilled. Now the saw won't function because the blade guard isn't bolted down at the right spot. Absolutely terrible saw.

BEWARE! Serious Motor Issues

I've now had 2 of these over the last year thinking it was just a defect. Both of them have the same issues with the motor. When it starts up, it sounds like a damaged motor beginning to spin up. Also, it smells as if the armature is overheating and burning. It's subtle at first but then begins to degrade over the year. Only lasted 6 Months

Saw is throwing sparks already after only 6 months of use. This is my 5th saw and this one looks like it's gonna catch fire. Bad brushes/commutator, who knows! I cut a lot of wood as I use this for my business but this saw has declined in quality. It's probably okay for the occasional user but definitely not made for a professional that needs to cut hundreds of wood slices a week. miter detents are metal on metal unlike the other top brands which have plastic parts... solid lock with no play, and the locking plate is adjustable to true up the saw. the bevel has solid stops at 0 and 45 (left) that slide out of the way to provide another 3 degrees in each direction, the markings in between seem accurate. the saw has no soft start, no brake, no LED and no extensions on either side of the table... it's a basic saw but very capable. the table is flat and so is the one-piece...

Defective and DeWalt Won't Help

Defective. The guard bracket screw will not come out to change the blade. It has blue stuff on it that looks like Loctite and the wrench that came with the saw is starting to strip it. I googled this issue and found lots of people on message boards that had the same problem with this saw right out of the box. Yet, DeWalt keeps selling saws with this defect. DeWalt Support suggested I send it to a mail-in program that doesn't take miter saws. The only other suggestion is a repair shop that's an ...
