⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Beast of a Miter Saw — Smooth, Accurate, and Way Too Fun to Use I’ve used a lot of miter saws over the years, but this DeWalt 12” sliding double-bevel is on a whole different level. The power is unreal — it cuts through thick hardwood like it’s bored and looking for a challenge. The slide action is buttery smooth, the accuracy is spot-on straight out of the box, and the bevel adjustments are so easy and precise that even I can’t mess them up. The dual-bevel feature is a game changer fo...

Sliding Mechanism Pulls Left
I bought this saw a few years ago brand new. I had an awful time trying to calibrate it, and thought it was just my inexperience with this kind of pro-level saw. It wasn't until this week that I realized it wasn't me, it was the sliding mechanism. The sliding mechanism is not square - as you pull it toward you the blade/blade carriage drifts to the left. So when pushed all the way in and you put your square against the fence and the blade it shows as square, or if you slide the blade all the...

Big disappointment
OK. A little background on what I do. I am not just your average DIY'er. I am a finish carpenter by trade and I do this for a living. It supports my family and I and is not just a hobby. Initial review, August 2014: This saw was delivered in July 2014. From day one the positive stops for the most commonly used angles were vague and not definite. Because of this problem, I am not really sure how accurate the stops are and I have to check each one before cutting with a protractor or head square. ...
Hooked After One Cut – DeWalt for Life!
I bought the 12 in. Double-Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw last year as my very first DeWalt product—and I was instantly hooked. After just one weekend of use, I ran straight back to the store and picked up the DeWalt table saw, a full set of drills, impact drivers, and hand tools. That saw didn’t just impress me—it converted me. DeWalt is now my go-to brand for everything in my workshop. The quality, power, and precision are unmatched. I’ve been counting down to Black Friday just so I can exp...

This saw is a beast
This saw is virtually everything I needed in a dual bevel, sliding compound miter saw. Calibrating the saw out of the box was a piece of cake. If you can read and follow instructions you'll have no trouble zeroing it out. My first use for this saw wasn't for a woodworking project. I used it to cut an aluminum handrail for a cable railing system. I changed out the blade to the DeWalt 12" non ferrous 96 tooth blade and it cut through the aluminum like a hot knife through butter. Nice clean cuts o...
Great saw with just one minor flaw...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A little over two years ago when we moved into our new house, I retired my 23-year-old miter saw (another brand) and I started looking for a replacement. I wanted a double bevel, 12" compound miter saw to use for trim, wood flooring, and cabinet construction. I need something durable and that could be installed into a custom built 12-foot-long miter saw station with cabinets that I planned on building. Having read multiple magazine and online r...

DWS780 12" Double Bevel Sliding Compound Saw is am
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased the DSW780 12” Double Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw. I have been extremely happy with this excellent tool in my basement work shop and have used it for my various wood projects around the house. This tool has also enabled the installation of crown molding in a friend’s home to be a cinch. In my opinion, there is not a better Brand of tools on the market today. In fact, I have used nothing but DeWalt Power Tools and a...

Great all around
I've used DeWalt tools for years and always liked them, but this saw is on another level. Super easy to use, and the cutline blade positioning system is a game-changer. I upgraded from a saw with a laser and won’t be going back. Quick tip—hook up a vacuum for dust management because otherwise, it gets everywhere. Overall, highly recommend it for both DIYers and pros.

DO NOT BUY
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was extremely disappointed with this purchase, the blade bottoms out on a piece below the miter slot, and the dust deflector was broken and for the price I was really unhappy, I returned the saw and will be stuck using my 20 plus year old dewalt 12in non sliding saw, which was a feature I was really needing, dewalt tools are usually a great buy but this is the first time I had any issues, I will probably try a different brand unfortunately, I...

Very well designed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have found the DWS780 - 12" double bevel compound miter saw to be a versatile saw for a person that requires precision cuts on various sizes of lumber. The backboard is almost 5" high and can be adjusted outward to the left and/or right to allow more support for cutting long boards, like a 4" X 4" post. The bevel of the blade can be tilted left or right from 0 to 45 degrees or anywhere in between and can be locked in place for multiple cuts. ...
