great saw. game changer
I previously had a seven and a quarter inch cobalt miter saw. when it broke in the middle of a trim project, I bought this dewalt, and it was a game changer. the work late with the shadow cast of the blade for accuracy and the ability for additional capacity truly improves the quality and quantity of your work. buy it sooner than later
Very Sturdy Miter Saw Stand
Very sturdy miter saw stand. Saw support brackets support the saw well and can be moved anywhere along the stand. The stand can be moved with the saw installed but the combination is heavy. Legs lock in place well. Stock supports can be positioned anywhere on the stand or the stand extensions. Length is about 6 feet so if your truck is shorter and you need to move it often you might need to consider the shorter one that Dewalt makes. There is a channel in the top of the stand to give it strength...
Heavy Duty Winner
This stand handles the weight no problem. Put the brackets on the stand first then mount the saw to the brackets. I bought better bolts (3/8-16 x 2 Carriage Bolts) and had to drill them out to 7/16, a whooping 1/16 inch larger. 3/8 is the exacts diameter of the slots in the brackets. I changed out the bolts that came with the stand because they are way too soft even for my Diamond tipped screw drivers. Everything works great. I used it to cut some replacement deck boards. I did buy the DW...
Excellent Miter stand
We’ll build and solid. Stops are easy to use. Saw purchase included the miter stand.
Heavy to move but worth the convince.
My last saw I used on the ground and it was a back breaker. Being able to stand while you work makes you much more efficient and you feel better at the end of the day.
DWS780
The saw is powerful and makes very nice and accurate cuts. However, the XPS Cutline is only approximate (the kerf is wider than the projected cut line), which is fine for rough carpentry, but useless for finish work (see photos). Furthermore, dust collection is basically non-existent (see photos). Even with a dust collection vacuum, dust gets everywhere — so bad It’s basically not usable indoors. If you feel compelled to buy a Dewalt slider, get the 779. The 780 is not worth the extra $$.
It's very nice, but things fall off of it.
I was hoping to be able to store some stuff, like my laundry, or maybe winter jackets in the middle of summer. Instead I decided to put that saw that I had to buy to go along with the saw blade that I bought. And every time I cut something my pencil falls off, my tape measure falls off, sometimes a piece of wood falls off. I really should have just put the saw on the floor, because nothing really falls off the floor.
Free with the Miter Saw
Came as a bundle. Didn't need it but its a nice addition. Bigger than I thought and hard to move around.
Great except when it breaks immediately
As noted on other reviews, the leaf spring broke like it was it was its job. Dewalt doesn't support this item and the entire unit will need replacing to address this so look elsewhere if you can. I will be making my own springs and not buying dewalt in the future. Imagine needing to spend an afternoon bringing a 30lb piece of hardware across town every few months to exchange it for the sake of a part that costs $0.12 to manufacture. Shameful, honestly. Vevor and harbor freight provide better pa...

Dangerous
SAFETY WARNING!!! Hey carpenters - head's up!!!! Saws that are marked with the little green or black dot that are supposed to indicate that the saw has been officially "inspected" and marked as good-to-go by DeWalt's safety experts may STILL have the faulty part installed. I know this because I bought a saw from Lowe's back in Feb 2022 (6 months after DeWalt's recall) that I MADE ABSOLUTELY SURE had the safety inspection dots marked on both the saw arm and next to the serial number before I lef...
