I bought this grill about 3 weeks ago and 3 cooks in I absolutely love it. I can see assembly being a bit tricky for a novice as it seems the instructions assume you’ve done this before but I do suggest using a nut driver as suggested to tighten bolts so you don’t strip them. Grill is very sturdy after careful assembly and will probably last a long time with care. My only complaints are it’s definitely a coal burner and the plastic wheels.
Rusted Grill Grates right out of the box.
The customer service reps. were nice. This item was ordered with free assembly and then due to the size of the grill, I had to get someone to go pick it up for me because I am not paying a $79 delivery fee to have it delivered 7 miles. The grill grates were RUSTED. Now I have a grill that has never been used with rusted grates and that is not acceptable to pay $200 for a grill that came with the grates rusted. Got this on sale for $98 to replace my grill that was falling apart. It was easy enough to assemble and have chosen to leave the shelf off to save space when not in use. After assembly I was ready to get started and had the steaks ready to grill, but noticed a strong chemical smell after getting the coals hot and putting the grates in place. Parts Machined Wrong Made Assembly Impossible
I bought this grill from Lowe's. Halfway through the painstaking process of bending metal and hammering the legs into place i gave up trying to fit the bolts through the holes and returned it. I could tell when trying to build this grill that all of the parts were very cheap and the paint chips easily. I'm glad I didn't put it together, because I went and bought a Weber kettle grill that I brought home and assembled in about 30 minutes. Stay away from this grill. It isn't worth saving the money....

I have been buying the Char Griller for years now. Yes, after 5 to 10 yrs its time to get a new one. However parts are available in the meantime. I also like the barrel style as it provides multiple cooking areas at different temperatures and the ability to have direct or indirect heat. One additional note. The cast iron grill holds heat and seasoned correctly does not rust.

I bought this grill in a box got it home and once I laid all the pieces out I noticed that the lower barrel welds had come apart. I had to bend the backside back into place use vice grips to secure it then drill out the wilds install screws washers and nuts at get it to reform. Other than that it’s been a good little grill.

excellent size, versatile for cooking options, and with proper care should last me a long time. I did get an electronic thermometer to help verify the temp on the existing gage but early on the gage does seem to be accurate. Missing parts
We received this grill as a wedding gift. It was missing the screws, grilling grates and had bent pieces. The customer service for Char-Griller is terrible. They refused to send parts. I returned to the store and went with a different brand.
Not to order online with Lowes
It took 3 weeks bf I got it.. each week I got a call and excuse why it wasn’t being delivered until the following week

Terrible!
First, it was delivered by FedEx with the box ripped and banged up. The paint was chipped in certain areas, and the lid was bent. I was willing to bypass that, as I am elderly and my neighbor was going to put it together for me...that is, until we discovered that the leg braces that keep the grill sturdy were missing. Now, I have to put everything back in a beat-up box the best we can and personally return it to Lowe's. I'm not sure who to blame, Lowe's or FedEx. Either way, this is unacceptable...
