[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Akorn for Father’s Day three years ago. I’ve owned a few grills over the years, and if I’m being honest, most of my early “BBQ” was just enthusiastic guessing. Then I got the Char-Griller Akorn, and suddenly I went from “guy who brought chips” to “guy everyone asks to cook.” I’m not saying this grill changed my life… but my swordfish has a fan club now. The biggest difference is charcoal flavor done right. The Akorn runs on lum...

Love our AKORN…but
Love my AKORN cooker (actually my second)! We use it all the time for low-and-slow smoking to ripping hot searing. But twice now, the architecture supporting the ash pan has burned out requiring either a new ash pan kit…or a whole new cooker. Seems like a design flaw.

Lots To Love
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had been using gas grills for many years and wanted to get a charcoal grill again for the added smoked taste and less flair ups. The Akorn Kamado grill fit the bill perfectly. I liked it so much after the first dozen uses that I got rid of my old gas grill. While I had also been looking at pellet grills, I kept seeing the horror stories about jammed feeders and having to do a lot of maintenance to keep them going. The AKORN grill only...

Great Kamado Style Grill! Great Price!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Char-Griller Akorn Kamado has been a fantastic addition to my backyard cooking setup. One of the standout features is the smoking stone—it transforms the grill into a true smoker, giving me consistent indirect heat and that perfect smoky flavor every time. Low-and-slow barbecue has never been easier. Another huge strength is its heat retention. Thanks to the insulated steel body, this grill holds temperature incredibly well. Whether I’m ...

One of the best grills I've used in Alaska!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I relocated to Fairbanks, Alaska and because of moving costs I had to leave my collection of grills and smokers behind. When I saw that an akorn kamado had come up for sale, I immediately picked it up. However never having used any kamado style cooker, I was a bit wary, but after watching a few YouTube videos, I was cooking up some nice briskets and ribs. It is a bit testy on managing its temp, but for the most part, it's easy to use as long a...

New hobby!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old grill was rusting out so I was looking around for a new one. I found a good sale on the Akorn and after reading some reviews decided to give Kamado grilling a try. This grill seems to be be well made and I really like that you can both grill and smoke on the same unit. I grilled a couple of different items to get my feet wet and was pleased with the results and then took the plunge and did a slow smoked pork butt. There is a learning cur...

A fantastic Kamado
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my Akorn Kamado for several years now and it is the most versatile grill I have ever owned. It has a large grilling surface and the innovative lift out center and the expander rack are awesome. No other Kamado has these included. I like the fact that the outer surface never gets super hot so it is much safer than ceramic Kamados. It is also very frugal with lump charcoal use. You don't need to use much and at the end of cooking you ju...

Absolutely Love My Akorn!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had my Akorn about 3 yrs now and, out of all my grills, it’s my go to grill for all things. It’s a great, reliable cooker and clean up is a breeze. It’s one of those things that I would have to immediately replace if anything were to ever happen to it. If you’re looking for an awesome Kamado grill at a reasonable price, this is it!

Great workmanship quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my AKORN Kamado Grill for several years now and have enjoyed it thoroughly. Prior to purchasing it, I had only used a kettle grill and a portable gas grill. This was a real step-up for me in both price and quality. I could not be more pleased. The insulation on the cooking compartment allows good heat, as well as conserving the leftover charcoal for next time. I have cooked both direct and indirect with great results. I enjoyed it so...

Good Grill , Awesome Smoker
Received as a fathers day gift a few weeks early as my old stick burner finally gave up the ghost. The assembly instructions were a little vague on a few things but assembly was pretty simple. I've only had it for a month but I have already gone through 2 bags of charcoal I have used it so much, It's good for grilling and would be great if the cooking area were a little larger. As far as smoking goes, it's great. Hey, you're not going to get two briskets on here at one time but this isn't meant ...
