Not what they used to be
I purchased this grill for my step son after having bought one about 4 years ago that I still use. They are not what they used to be. This model grill has metal that seems like it's half the thickness all over. The lid twists and doesn't feel as heavy. The handles are cheaper. The base is narrower. The shelves are thin stainless steel where as mine are thick, painted shelves. I will agree that cooking is uneven from front to back even on mine, but you learn to cook with the grill and rotat...
Awesome Little Grill For The Price!
We bought this "little" gas grill as an extra, for when we didn't want to wait to fire up coals on my barrel grill/smoker, to cook pork chops/chicken breasts/burgers/hot dogs. We wanted something small, portable, but "decent." This little grill is AWESOME for the money. Pros: 1. It's on 4 wheel casters (most grills in this class only have two wheels on an axle). The unit is well manufactured, and the instructions are developed very well, so that assembly was a breeze. The grill fits our small deck perfectly. Very pleased for about 2 months. The only problem is the design. Not all grease makes its way to the grease collection pan, and it begins to cake up on the sides and bottom of the grill. This grille replaced my older Nexgrill of the same size. Probably the one thing I liked about this grille is all four wheels swivel.. Beyond that, it's quite chintzy, close to junk status. The metal used to make this is noticeably thinner than the Nexgrill. The stainless side shelves (chintzier than the Nexgrill ones) don't detach like the Nexgrill so I took the ones off the old grille and retrofitted them to this grille. I absolutely love my charcoal grill but I wanted a gas grill (had one years ago) for those nights when I wanted to get going quickly on the grill. This one is a nice size for just my wife and I and should be adequate for when our children and their husbands visit as well. We bought this to replace our 7 yo Charbroil grill that was just like this model. Nope sheet metal to thin to screw back brace had to use a small bolt and nut, Burner heat shileds 3 times thinner and narrower than most models will not allow even burn, front end of burners & crossover tubes way to many holes over 16 holes in the last inch of burners, these holes are less than a 1/4" next to burner which will burn ignitor unit out in no time the holes also cause a high flame no matter what setting...
