Great Basket for a Great Price

I bought this basket primarily for one reason or another but mainly for doing spatchcock chickens. I have put up to a 5 lb spatchcock chicken and it works great haven't had a bad chicken yet cooked evenly. The only real drawback is the walking mechanism for the basket as it is a ring that is not completely sealed or welded shut and has a tendency to spread apart when they get hot. Overall great basket I would recommend it to all my friends and I just bought a second one tonight.

Locking Mechanism, Thumbs Down!

The idea behind this is excellent! I bought this basket with the intention of grilling large prawns! It definitely grilled them evenly and efficient! I’ll give it an A+ for that! However, the locking mechanism is terrible, first basket of prawns and the flimsy metal heated so much that it got stuck! Therefore I had to wait for it cool off and use pliers to pry the lock open! Hopefully they will revise the locking mechanism. But for now, I DO NOT recommend this product!

Black paint is mighty tasty

First black paint will flake off before during and after your cook to include on your food. I also had to add a piece of wire to make the basket depth adjustable so could flip some scallops. Very obvious alteration that so easy that Char Broil should integrate into the design of they cared. Used it once and now it is in the bin down at road awaiting pickup

Handy for flipping items easilyu

Good for burgers, dogs, chicken, and corn with husk on. Only drawback is that the handle extends past the front of the grill such that the lid can't fully close, and the lid tilts the basket up away from the grate when it comes down. If Weber made a basket with a handle designed to solve this, I'd buy it. Still, this is fine when a closed lid isn't required.

Char-Broil Steel Grill Basket

The basket was not any good. It spilled the food all over the ground and the grill when I turned the basket over to cook the other side. My dog got to eat my food as it was on the ground. The lid did not stay on the basket. It slid to the side and open the basket and let the food fall out. This is the worst constructed basket I have ever seen. Take it out of the store and don’t carry it for sale.

Love it!

It is the best basket for grilling fish. The adjustable top of the basket makes it possible to flip what you're grilling without breaking up or dropping the product into the fire.

Great features

I love this thing! The basket is adjustable,and the wood handle fits great. Nonstick is a plus!

Mystery Blake flakes.

In getting ready to use the product, I washed it in the sink. The amount of black flakes coming off is unbelievable. I’ve washed it 4 times and the flakes keep coming off.

Vegetables fall out

I bought this to grill vegetables without putting them on a skewer. When you turn the basket over, many vegetables just fall out. The spacing is too wide. Also, the top rack does not stay securely in position, and can fall off when the basket is turned over. I’m very disappointed.

Very practical

I have the same one that I had for over 25 years. I needed another one. This one is exactly the same. I bought another one that was not a good design So I was very glad to find this one
