What Customers Are Saying
This portable electric air compressor is praised for its quick pressure buildup, ability to power various pneumatic tools, and compact, lightweight design. Many users find it convenient and capable for household tasks and small projects. However, some note it can be louder than other models. Overall, it provides sufficient power and performance for most home uses at a good value.

Picked up one of these on 1/3/22 for the portability it offered over the larger compressor I use in the garage. The box was unopened & in good condition, so far so good. Unboxed the compressor & plugged it in this morning - 1/5/22 - and things went downhill from there. First off, the little guy was extraordinarily noisy & sounded quite unwell. My standard 1/4" hose would not lock into either fitting. This didn't actually matter though, as both pressure gauges remained pegged at zero even as...
Perfect for all my home uses
Obviously, using the Craftsman 6-Gallon Portable Electric Pancake Air Compressor is much like using other air compressor, so I will try to speak to the subtle differences from other compressors I’ve used in the past. However, before that, I will say that it works perfectly in all the expect ways: keeps itself charged with air pressure; produces PSI necessary for nailing, pumping tires, blowing off small particles of dust etc.; and so forth. Years ago, when I was in college, I worked at Sears, so...
Works ok while it lasts
Had for just over a year. Worked fine as expected but I never had another pancake compressor to compare it to. It IS quite loud for a small machine, in my opinion, and it does sound like it's going to fall apart at times, just makes a rattle type noise when it's running. I use it lightly in my woodshop and home for the occasional brad nailing project or to blow off dust. Just recently after a year of ownership, when sitting after being fully compressed there is air leaking from the body somewher...
It's pretty much $99 all the time
I've had this compressor a couple years now and it's a great addition to my workshop. It does like to walk around when the compressor is running, so you may want to make sure it is braced or at the very least not somewhere it can fall over. Also, the vibration likes to loosen the bolts that secure the upper unit to the air tank. I have had to replace the bleeder valve, but was cheap and painless. It is rated at 2.4 SCFM at 90 psi, and 4.5 SCFM at 30 psi. My Kobalt paint sprayer calls for 6 S...

Decent for the price but has its faults
I recently purchased this air compressor as I "donated" my old reliable mini air compressor to my kids. Wish I'd kept my old reliable. This compressor is NOISY. Positive is it's light weight. I noticed after pumping it up the first time that the pressure was slowly bleeding off. I thought maybe I hadn't tightened the drain cap enough. Nope. After applying some soap it became obvious the threaded hose adapter that screws into the tank was the culprit. I had already threw away the box it came wi...
Hello, appreciative customer Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback on the Compressor ( Model #CMEC6150) and I'm sorry to hear ab...
Will not recover
I purchased this because of the Craftsman name. Wished I would have looked at the reviews first. I would have bought another brand. The compressor has less than 20 hours total time. Used in doors with a Senco pin nailer and to air up our car tires. Periodic blow down with the air hose. It has become weaker and weaker the past two months. Struggled to make the initial tank pressure and now will not recover with my little senco pin nailer. It's useless at this point. I would not recommend this pro...

Great Air compressor for medium duty use.
Chose the Craftsman 6 gal., 150 psi compressor to replace a small, inefficient 3 gal one i have been using for several years. This compressor comes without hose or attachments, so bear that in mind. This is pretty much a standard air compressor. Features include a 5 foot power cord, a nice 3 way handle that makes it easy to pick up, an area to wrap the cord up, tank pressure gauge, regulator pressure gauge, adjustable regulator valve and 2 quick connects so you can connect 2 tools, etc. at the s...
Works great right out of the box
Got this on sale for a decent price and also because of the Craftsman name and previous good reviews. I rarely use a compressor - a couple of times per year for my car tires and 3 or 4 times a summer for the riding mower. This worked like a champ right out of the box for the car and mower. It is easily adjustable pressure-wise for higher or lower PSI and the tank fills to 150 PSI in just a couple of minutes from empty - and tops itself off in just a few seconds as you use it. I put a small n...
awesome compressor
i have owned several other brand of compressors and by far this is the best compressor i have ever owned. I use it for all kinds of things from airing up tires to using it on my air tools.

Poor regulator mount design
I recently purchased the Craftsman 6 gal pancake compressor for a DYI bathroom remodel. When removing the compressor from the box, I noticed that the regulator was off center. Further inspection revealed that the regulator is screwed directly to the tank without a seperate nut for tightening. Needless to say, the regulator was loose and moved freely both directions approximately an 8th of a turn making the pipe dope useless. I gave the compressor a chance and sure enough it leaked air at tha...
