What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this filler for its rapid drying time and effortless sanding, comparing the texture to "butter" that leaves surfaces flawlessly smooth and ready for paint. Reviewers highlight exceptional versatility across wood, metal, ABS plastic, and fiberglass, with many calling it their go-to solution for pinholes, scratches, and surface imperfections. Some note putty separation in tubes requiring kneading, and a few mention it hardens too quickly in warm conditions. Despite minor frustrations with limited color options and unclear packaging instructions, most customers consider it reliable and repurchase repeatedly.

I bought this product after reading about furniture flipping and working with products. It was recommended by other flippers and so I tried it. It is great! It adheres great, dries quickly and sands off beautifully. It is now my go-to product.

Smooth like butter
Love this stuff, it has many applications. I used it to touch up a bumper, touch up a few pairs of sunglasses (with nicks, cuts, scrapes, splits, etc on the frames. Not the lenses.) The biggest key to this stuff, as with most things in life, is patience. I'll work multiple projects at the same time, that way while I wait for things to dry, (spot putty, paint, stain, you get the picture. Whatever is wet and shouldn't be) I'll go work on something else for 20 minutes, and hour, sometimes til the n...

Works good on ABS
This works well. I am currently using a tube that was sitting in my toolbox for over 6 years and it works fine. There was some initial clear liquid at the start of the tube but I just squeezed it out and discarded it and after that it is very homogenous. I am using it to fill and smooth seams between parts glued together in the making of ABS boat hulls and I find it works very well for this application. It adheres to ABS very well and has a very good combination of firmness while remaini...

Finishing putty
Dries quick and sands easy, great for finishing on fiberglass

Good for very small repairs
This putty is good for small dings and minor scrapes, but not for anything of any size. It shrinks a bit as the solvent evaporates, and if it is used for anything larger than a small button the shrinkage will allow cracks to develop. But for small spot repairs, it is fine.
Question about stage number on packaging
I have used this product with great success for years. Buying some recently I noticed on the packaging that it says either Stage 1, 2, 3 or 4. What does this mean, or refer to? I have seen 3M's stages of finishing and that's not what I am looking for. I have seen others asking the same question on other forums/sights and no one seems to be able to get any answer, other than 3M's stages of finishing list. A different stage number on the package would indicate a different use for the product.
