I bought this 5/6 years ago in the first year it came out. The unit is both amazing and frustrating at the same time: Please bare in mind this was the first year of production so later units may not have this issue. 1. Initial impressions. Great! Do not buy! EFI broke. Under warranty but parts not available!
Avoid this machine10 uses and broke. Throttle body is not available and back ordered for over two weeks during the middle of severe snow storms. Used 19 times and under warranty but Ariens doesn’t have the parts and they are back ordered. Stick with carb model if you don’t want these problems. Ran great before the throttle body broke. If I could give it zero stars I would as it’s unusable. May have to buy another blower to get me through the season.

Don't waste your money like I did! Junk.
I had an old Troy that lasted me over 15 years and only needed to replace it because it went with my old house when I sold it. Everyone recommended an Ariens so I made the mistake and bought one. I bought the biggest "best" one they had in stock which was the ax 306cc efi 30" deluxe and a few years later it is junk. Just when I need it the most here in Wisconsin I'm left shoveling at 58 years old. Thanks Ariens. I will never, ever, ever buy another Ariens.

Ariens 30 Deluxe EFI 921049 i would not reccomend to buy the EFI its junk i bought it January 18th 2025 it started 3 times over summer went to Start it in October 2025 wouldnt start with all diagnoses i replaced fuel pump wasnt problem kept diagnose it and EFI throttle body went bady after 3 start ups all year no EFI should go bad after few start ups stick to carburater snow blower they are better
Buyer be ware
EFI awful product brought back to dealer several times. Tried contacting Ariens they emailed saying we don’t have issues with EFI and it’s all over internet. I tried calling them for resolution they kept me on hold for 1/2 hr they told me they would call back never did. DO NOT buy EFI models and Ariens doesn’t stand behind them.

Do Not Buy
I will now be getting this gently used snowblower fixed for the third time. Purchased 2/1/22. First repair? 1/4/23. Would not start. Used maybe twice. Second repair? 12/13/24. Drive wheels not engaging. Tried to start today to get ready for the first snow of the season on 12/1/25. Drive wheels not engaging. Again. Three repairs in three years for a seldomly used, extremely expensive snowblower. I will never, ever, ever buy an Ariens product ever again. Ever.
Excellent Snowblower
I have normally purchased Craftsman snowblowers so this is my first Ariens snowblower. I was a little skeptical but many of the reviews were positive for Ariens snowblowers so decided to give this unit a chance. I didn't really have a choice as my old snowblower had given up the ghost. We had two storms in a row. The first dumped 5" of wet heavy snow and the second dumped another 11" of wet heavy snow. Amazin!
I've had the 30" EFI for going on the 3rd winter season. With proper maintenance and care this machine has ran flawlessly and starts up with a turn of a key and at max 2 pulls. I did have the light go out but it was just the fuse. I have added drift cutters, front light and cab. Love this beast!

Won’t start - constantly in the shop
I bought this from Lowes in 2022. Toward the end of last winter it started leaking gas. This season I got it out and tried to start it and it wouldn’t start. I read these Ariens snowblowers have a poorly designed fuel system. I replaced the fuel pump and tried again - still wouldn’t start, still leaked gas. So, I took it to a repair shop. He found that the new fuel pump had already broken because the connector for the fuel pump to the fuel line is brittle plastic and snapped right off. So, we bo...

Great so far
This was a discounted floor model, so it came assembled already. Just had to make a few adjustments and check all the fluids and was ready to go. The charging cable was not with it, so I had to purchase that separately. Being EFI, it starts quite easily and runs well. Have used it 2 times so far and I'm very happy with my purchase.
