I was very excited to get this dishwasher. We were starting fresh in a different home & rebuilding our lives after losing everything from covid job losses. This unit seemed like a good choice, economically, it's energy star rated and overall was a very nice looking dishwasher. I PRE-RINSE, no matter how much dishwasher tab box says otherwise. HOWEVER, Within 6 months the performance severely diminished. I was having to rewash dishes frequently, so I swapped to the more expensive dishwasher tabs....

Should have bought this Amana in the first place.
SOOOOOO much better than that Frigidaire piece of garbage I bought. It was broken right out of the factory and the tech just kept throwing parts at it and it still didn't work. 3 months I was without a dishwasher because Frigidaire would NOT fail it and replace it. I called another tech and first time out he knew the problem and fixed it. Even though it was fixed I still hated it. First wash impressions 5-28-22
Replaced a 17+year old JENNAIRE. First impressions, the Jennaire was at least 10 pounds heavier and until it failed, it did well, but sounded like a construction site LOL. The Amana is simple and everything that can be plastic, IS plastic. This was the cheapest Stainless dishwasher I could find in 2022. Compared to the 17 year old model it replaced, it is an upgrade. Very basic. Doesn't dry well at all.
We knew we weren't getting an amazing dishwasher considering this is one of the cheapest options, but I at least expected it to mostly dry my dishes. Doesn't dry
Purchased this to replace one I had that stopped working. This one has a plastic piece on the bottom which isn't good when mopping the floor. The issue is it will not dry. Apparently this one is defective and is being replaced. I truly hope the replacement actually works or I will never buy another one. The one I had prior to this I was very happy with. It was 8.5 years old when it quit. Things aren't built to last anymore. So, here's hoping the replacement actually works fingers crossed!
Don’t buy.
The stainless steel front is very “cheesy.” The inside racks are exactly the same for top and bottom which are not really conducive for pots and pans. The heated dry does not efficiently dry the dishes, particularly the top rack and leaves the dishes very spotty. The door does not stay open unless the bottom rack is holding it open. This Amana dishwasher was purchased online and I wish I would have gone to the store to look at it as I would have never purchased it.

It's okay
We needed a new dishwasher after our fancy Whirlpool stainless steel tub, with lots of bells and whistles, bit the dust after only 3 years. This unit was what we were able to afford at the time, so we bought it and installed ourselves. It is pretty basic....lots of plastic, door creaks open and shut, leaves some spots on my silverware even with rinse agent....but, it's doing it's best. I wish the door would stay open a few inches to help dry the dishes, but it drops like a rock and won't prop op...

Good Dishwasher....But....
It's a good dishwasher holds much more dishes than my old GE dishwasher and is quieter. Just not happy at the amount of water left on dishes, door and bottom of dishwasher. Heavy droplets and mist remain even when I set the washer settings to Hi Temp and Heated Dry. My old GE dishwasher never had that problem. I would probably return the product and get something else but I only bought it to add value to the home we are selling so the new owners can deal with the excess water if it even bother...

Rust spots
We have begun to notice small rust spots on the stainless steel front panel in less than a year of purchase date. Tried gentle cleaning but they do not come off and will probably get worse over time. Afraid to try other "cleaners" as the panel appears that it will scratch very easily. Not the best stainless steel used by Amana it seems.
Worst machine ever
We had an older unit that started to fail, after 12 years, which is fine. We decided to stay with the same brand. This was the biggest mistake we made. The unit is cheap. The spacing of the posts for the dishes is all wrong. They could have kept the same concept but they decided to make it cheap. Well, they succeeded. It not only doesn’t fit most dishes, but it doesn’t clean well. Live and learn.
