Customer satisfaction is our goal. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, simply return the merchandise to any Lowe's store in the U.S. within 90* days. We, in our discretion, will repair it, replace it, or, based on your method of payment with a valid receipt, refund your money.

Lowe's Return Policy

In most instances, your receipt can be retrieved by using the original credit card, checking account number, MyLowe's card or by your phone number. For returns without a valid receipt, in-store credit may be issued for the item’s current selling price. Lost or stolen gift cards can only be replaced for the remaining balance by presenting the original receipt.

Lowe's reserves the right to refuse or limit the number of returns permitted without valid receipts. No returns for purchases made with checks will be made if you have outstanding checks with Lowe's. Lowe's may require valid picture ID (state driver's license, state ID card or military ID) for any return. Lowe's stores use refund and check verification systems. All returns are subject to system approvals. Valid picture ID information or phone number may be entered into these systems where authorized by law.

These remedies are your exclusive remedies. All other remedies are hereby excluded. All warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose are expressly excluded. The exclusions herein are subject to and may be limited by applicable law and you may have additional rights that vary from state to state.

Winter holiday seasonal item returns must be initiated on or before December 26 of the same holiday season. 30 days on major appliances (including but not limited to refrigerators 9 cubic feet or larger, washing machines, dryers and range hoods), outdoor power equipment (including but not limited to mowers, chain saws, generators, pressure washers, trimmers and blowers) and highway trailers.

For manufacturer defects in these items, please call Lowe's Service Advantage hotline toll-free at 1-888-77-LOWES (56937) to set up a factory-certified service appointment in your home or for general assistance. If the repair is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, it will be repaired at no cost to you. For repairs not covered under the manufacturer's warranty, repairs may be offered by the technician, but at your expense.

Highway trailer returns must occur in original state of purchase with original paperwork.

Easy Refunds and Exchanges at Your Local Lowe's Store

For in-store, contact center and Lowes.com purchases, no receipt is required in most instances to make a return if you provide the MyLowe's card or the credit card tendered on the original purchase.

If you made your purchase in store and paid with cash or check, no receipt is required if you provided a phone number at time of checkout.

For all other returns, please bring a receipt or invoice with you to ensure a quick and hassle-free return.

Easy Returns and Exchanges on Parcel-Shipped Merchandise

Lowe's offers prepaid parcel-shipped merchandise returns on many items purchased on Lowes.com. If this prepaid option is available for your item, you will receive a prepaid return slip with your item.

If you choose to return or exchange your product using our centralized parcel return facility, complete the follow steps:

  • Place item into a sturdy shipping package.
  • Include only the items for which the prepaid return slip was provided, not other items purchased from Lowe's.
  • Include all manufacturers' original packing materials, manuals and accessories.
  • Detach, complete and include the return slip with your shipment.
  • Place the enclosed shipping label on the package.
  • Give the package to your local parcel carrier or drop it off at any carrier location (store, terminal or drop box).
  • Note: The original shipping charges incurred on your purchase are not refundable as part of your return.

If your purchase does not include a return slip and shipping label, please visit your local Lowe's store to make the return.

Please report items that are damaged or missing within three days of delivery.

To comply with Federal Hazardous Materials Shipping Regulations (49CFR Parts 171-180), do not use the provided shipping label to return outdoor power equipment (including but not limited to mowers, chain saws, blowers, tillers, trimmers and pressure washers) containing oil, fuel or other fluids.
Note: APO/FPO ship-to addresses are not eligible for no-charge pickup.
The U.S. Department of Transportation regulates the shipment of products containing lithium batteries. Customers should return items containing lithium-ion batteries to their local Lowe's store.

Shipping Errors or Damage

If you are dissatisfied with your purchase due to a shipping error, missing item or damage to due to shipping and you qualify for a return or exchange under Lowe's Return Policy, Lowe's may offer to pick up your return. Please call us at 1-800-445-6937 within three days of receiving the item to report the error or damage.
