Carpet Care

Carpet Care

STAINMASTER® offers quality carpet for every home and every family’s lifestyle. Whether your carpet endures heavy or very little traffic, proper care will allow its quality, look and feel to last for years to come.

Care for Your Carpet

There are steps you can take to help maintain your carpet:

  • Vacuum often to remove dry soil particles that can cause matting and fibers to become dull.
  • Rearrange your furniture to give your carpet a rest.
  • Avoid direct sunlight on carpet for long periods of time. Close blinds periodically. For rooms with lots of sunlight, select a lighter-colored carpet to minimize fading.
  • Move your furniture to create a new traffic pattern.

Spot Treatment

Sometimes, accidental spills happen. When they do, removing the liquid from the fiber’s surface as quickly as possible is key. The sooner you remove the liquid, the less time the liquid has to penetrate and leave a stain. Also, blot the spot, and don’t rub or scrub.

Professional Cleaning

STAINMASTER® recommends you get professional carpet cleaning at least every 12 months — even if you clean the carpet yourself in between. If your carpet is a light color, you may need to have it professionally cleaned.
