  • Drill with 1/8" bit
  • Pencil


  • 1/4" x 2' x 4' sanded pine plywood (#7702)
  • Troy-Bilt .105" trimmer line (#229627)
  • Package self-leveling picture hangers (#52716)
  • Valspar spray paint, Metallic Silver

Step 1

Have a Lowe's associate cut your plywood in half; it should measure 2' x 2'.

Step 2

If you like, spray-paint the plywood a color of your choice. Let dry.

Step 3

Trace a word, phrase, or symbol on the plywood with a pencil.

Step 4

Drilling holes in plywood
Drill 1/8" holes along the letters you traced, about 1/2" to 1" apart.

Step 5

Threading trimmer line through holes
Thread trimmer line through the holes.

Step 6

Center a picture hanger on the back of the plywood, attach, and hang.
