  • 1/2" x 2' x 4' birch plywood, #6200
  • Rust-Oleum gloss enamel spray paint in Fern
  • 2 - ¼" hex nuts, galvanized (25 per pack)
  • 2 - ¼" flat washers, galvanized (25 per pack)
  • 2 - 6-32 steel hex machine nuts (24 per pack)
  • 2 - #6 SAE steel flat washers (36 per pack)
  • 2 - #10 SAE steel flat washers (24 per pack)

Step 1

Have a Lowe's associate cut your plywood into 2' x 2' squares.

Step 2

Lightly sand the front and sides of one 2' x 2' piece of plywood. Wipe clean with a dry cloth.

Step 3

Apply one coat of spray paint to the square. Let dry. Apply a second coat and let dry.

Step 4

Draw an oversize letter in your desired font and size on the 2' x 2' board with a pencil. Our letter is 12" tall.

Step 5

Arrange nuts and hex washers of various sizes into the letter shape.

Step 6

Glue washers and hex nuts to the board one at a time and let dry.

Good to Know

Choose a favorite font on your computer, enlarge it to your desired size, and print it out. Don't have a large-format printer? Have a local print shop enlarge it for you.
