About Lowe's Commitment to Habitat for Humanity
Lowe's has a long-standing tradition with Habitat for Humanity International, providing donations and manpower since 1994. Lowe's has contributed more than $10 million and countless hours of volunteer support to Habitat for Humanity and is proud to continue its role as national underwriter of Habitat's Women Build program.
In 2005, Lowe's was an event-wide sponsor and participant in the Jimmy Carter Work Project in Michigan. Lowe's provided grants or store credits to support each of the 231 JCWP houses across the state.
About Women Build
Beginning this year, Lowe's and Women Build will begin a new initiative, "First Families Building Homes Across America."
One of the most ambitious projects undertaken by Habitat’s Women Build program, the First Families project, is a two-year initiative that enlists governors' spouses to join women volunteers nationwide to build a Habitat house in each U.S. state and the District of Columbia.
Join Lowe’s employees, Habitat for Humanity volunteers and women from all walks of life as we build stronger communities together.
