Build a Lazy Susan

Skill Level: Beginner

A lazy Susan not only serves as an attractive centerpiece for your kitchen table, it also makes items in the back corner of a counter or cabinet more accessible. But the best thing about a lazy Susan is how easy they are to make — all you need are a couple of basic tools, some wood and a lazy Susan bearing. Lowe's is happy to provide this information as a service to you.

Build the Lazy Susan
Botton of lazy suan bearing.
Make sure the bearing is top down and centered.
  1. Stain and finish the round board and let it dry.

  2. Lay the round board top side down on a flat work surface. Then, lay the lazy Susan bearing top down and centered on the round board. (The top of the bearing is the one with the largest diameter center hole.)

  3. Align the holes from drilling.
  4. Align the 3/4" hole in the bottom of the bearing with one of the medium holes in the top of the bearing. The 5/16" holes in the bottom of the bearing should be aligned with the small holes in the top of the bearing.

  5. Predrill holes for the round head screws in the board.

  6. Rotate the 3/4" hole over each small hole to install the screws.

  7. Lowes.com/WoodWorkersApply self-adhesive felt or rubber matting to the bottom of the bearing to keep it from scratching the table or counter.
