Here's How It's Done
If you can trace a line and hold a brush, you can make these decorations.
  1. Click on a decoration to get a pattern.

  2. Print it out. Draw grids to size on your plywood and transfer the pattern to the plywood. Or, have the pattern enlarged at a local copy shop per the instructions on the PDF. Place a piece of carbon paper over the plywood. Lay the pattern over the carbon paper and trace all the lines. Be sure to press hard so the pattern transfers to the plywood.

Good Idea. Good idea:  You may need to place several sheets of carbon paper between the plywood and the pattern.

  3. Use a jig saw to cut the plywood along the pattern's edge.

  4. Smooth the edges with sandpaper.

  5. Paint your decoration using the detail lines and color recommendations from the pattern. Allow the ornament to dry.

  6. WoodWorks.Cut a piece of plywood 2" wide and approximately 3" shorter than the height of your yard decoration. Use 1/2" screws to attach the 3" strap hinge to the wood strip and ornament.

  7. Have fun decorating your yard. To really set off your new landscaping, highlight it with a spotlight.
