Putting It Together

Make sure you finish making all the cuts before involving the child in the process. Use safety goggles at all times.

  1. Cut the pieces according to the cut list.

  2. Place the dowel (D) into the handle holes so the ends of the dowel are flush with the edge of each side. Glue into place.

  3. Place the end panel/handle assembly on its side. Use four nails and glue to attach each side panel (B) to the end panels (C).

  4. Place the assembled box upside down. Use four nails and glue to attach the bottom panel (A) to the end panels. Allow the glue on the bottom to dry completely before turning the box over.

  5. Place the tool box upright. Lightly sand the box to ensure a quality finish.

  6. Your child can stain, paint, color or decorate the box.

  7. Apply sealer to the box after decorating.
