Our Commitment

At Lowe’s, we don’t wait to be asked to help — we roll up our sleeves and dig in to improve our communities. For more than 100 years, we’ve helped our neighbors when they need it most.

Last year, Lowe’s made a bold commitment to renovate and revitalize 10 million square feet across the nation. From rebuilding after devastating floods and helping expand food pantries to building safer homes for our neighbors, each square foot was restored to create lasting change, driven by our associates’ passion to serve others.

Achieving our goal doesn’t mean our work is done. In fact, we’re just getting started.

Lowe’s and MrBeast Roll Up Their Sleeves to Help School

Hope Creek Academy serves high-support-needs students in North Carolina, inspiring young people and their families through hands-on, multi-sensory learning. When MrBeast learned about the school’s need for an outdoor play space and classroom, he knew just who to call.

On a chilly day in February, more than 40 Lowe’s associates showed up to build the innovative outdoor classroom. From spreading mulch to building play structures, the team rolled up their sleeves to ensure students have a dynamic, engaging outdoor learning space.

The project is part of Lowe’s work to renovate and restore community spaces nationwide.

Spotlight: What’s on Your Bucket List?

Lowe’s Helps Nonprofit Put Hope on Wheels

“We just started dreaming big and sharing with others what our vision was, and people got behind it,” said Adrienne Threatt, cofounder of Hope Vibes. “It’s because of the support that we’re able to produce not one Hope Tank, but now two.”

Hope Vibes, a nonprofit serving people experiencing homelessness, operates mobile hygiene units known as Hope Tanks. With support from a Lowe’s Community Impact Grant and Lowe’s Red Vest associates, the organization recently unveiled a second fully equipped unit, doubling its ability to meet urgent needs across the city.

Since launching its five-year, $100 million revitalization initiative, Lowe’s has funded hundreds of projects designed to deliver lasting local impact.

Our Community Engagements

Community Impact Projects

At Lowe’s, we believe strong communities are built by the people who know them best. Every neighborhood has opportunities to grow — whether it’s restoring a shared space, improving places where neighbors connect or increasing access to vital resources. Meaningful change starts with local ideas, and that’s where our commitment begins. Every year, we invite customers and associates to share ideas for community-improvement projects inspired by the needs and potential of their hometowns.

Safe and Affordable Housing

Each year Lowe’s partners with select nonprofits, such as Rebuilding Together and Habitat for Humanity, to identify and complete critical home repairs in the most vulnerable neighborhoods across America. As a home improvement retailer, we’re uniquely suited to address this issue — not just through financial contributions but also by providing the products needed to get the job done.

Every year, Lowe’s Red Vest associates provide hearts-in, hands-on expertise by teaming up with our nonprofit partners at many of the home repair projects, sharing in the opportunity to help their communities thrive.

Disaster Relief

As a home improvement retailer, Lowe’s priority is to be there for our associates and communities before, during and after a natural disaster. Following disasters, our recovery efforts include distributing critically needed cleanup supplies through our Bucket Brigades, partnering with local organizations to hand out free meals, and deploying our mobile Tool Rental Disaster Response Trailer to help people get both homes and businesses up and running.

Our support for communities also includes financial support of numerous disaster relief nonprofits that respond to immediate needs and rebuilding efforts in the months and years following the event.
