Lowe’s Teamed Up With Sleep in Heavenly Peace to Build Beds for Children in Need
On the morning of September 12, the roar of saws, drills and sanders could be heard from Lowe’s parking lots across the country as more than 10,000 volunteers and Lowe’s associates rolled up their sleeves to build beds for children in need.
What began as a pile of lumber in each parking lot was transformed into more than 12,000 beds — soon to be delivered to children who don’t have one to call their own.
“As a father, I am motivated to help our neighbors,” said Cory Calloway, store manager of Lowe’s of Mooresville. “We have the product and passion to help the children in our community, and I’m very proud of the impact that we’re able to make for so many in need.”
Colorado Lowe’s Associates Rally Behind First Responders
While firefighters, law enforcement, EMS crews and K-9 teams faced wildfires across Colorado on the Fourth of July, a group of Lowe’s associates spent their Independence Day finding ways to show these local heroes just how much their community cares.
At Lowe’s of Colorado Springs, store manager Michelle Archuleta and her leadership team started their morning filling coolers with everything they thought first responders might need: sturdy gloves, headlamps, batteries, electrolyte packets, snacks and a few thoughtful extras. But they didn’t just drop the coolers off at a station. They loaded up their cars and drove out to deliver them by hand to the crews working on the front lines.

Safe and Affordable Housing
Each year Lowe’s partners with select nonprofits, such as Rebuilding Together and Habitat for Humanity, to identify and complete critical home repairs in the most vulnerable neighborhoods across America. As a home improvement retailer, we’re uniquely suited to address this issue — not just through financial contributions but also by providing the products needed to get the job done.
Every year, Lowe’s Red Vest associates provide hearts-in, hands-on expertise by teaming up with our nonprofit partners at many of the home repair projects, sharing in the opportunity to help their communities thrive.
Disaster Relief
As a home improvement retailer, Lowe’s priority is to be there for our associates and communities before, during and after a natural disaster. Following disasters, our recovery efforts include distributing critically needed cleanup supplies through our Bucket Brigades, partnering with local organizations to hand out free meals, and deploying our mobile Tool Rental Disaster Response Trailer to help people get both homes and businesses up and running.
Our support for communities also includes financial support of numerous disaster relief nonprofits that respond to immediate needs and rebuilding efforts in the months and years following the event.
