Step 1

Create tails for banner backs
Cut 20-1/2-in beadboard pattern wallpaper into 5-in x 24-1/2-in strips. Gently fold the strips in half with the backside facing out. Cut a triangle out of scrap paper to use as a template. Place the template over the folded strips and cut around to create tails. Repeat with remaining folded strips.

Step 2

 Fold and cut wallpaper border
For the pinwheels, fold the wallpaper border back and forth into a fan. Once you reach eight folds, cut away from the roll.

Step 3

Pinch the folded portion together in the middle and staple the cut ends together to form a circle. Finish by adding a few drops of hot glue to the center folds to keep the circle shape.

Step 4

Spray paint edges of wallpaper circle

Lightly spray-paint the edges of the circle; let dry. (We used Tropical Foliage.)

Step 5

Decide what you want your banner to say. Use stencils to trace the letters onto pink sign board. Cut out the letters with a crafts knife.

Good to Know

Trace letters backwards on the back of the sign board so pencil marks do not show on the front.

Step 6

Hot glue tail, wallpaper pinwheel, and letter together
Hot-glue the folded tails, pinwheels, and letters together; let dry. Arrange the letters into words and string ribbon through the tops of the folded portions of the tails. Hang.
