Step 1

Pick up a picture frame at a garage sale or thrift store, or find one collecting dust in your home. Clean and dry it. Spray-paint the frame your desired color (we used Indigo Cloth); let dry.

Step 2

Spray-paint a lighter color on the photo mat insert, frame backing, or cardboard cut to size (we used Exotic Sea); let dry.

Step 3

Spray-paint the keys contrasting colors (we painted half of them Hacienda and the other half Island Orange); let dry.

Step 4

Insert the mat into the frame. Arrange the keys on the matte insert, alternating colors in a sunburst pattern. Once the keys are in the desired position, glue them to the surface of the matte insert and let dry.
Good to Know
This wall art works well for both standing picture frames and hanging picture frames. Make a set that includes both types of frames to create a unified look in your room.
